Lowe story on Rivals
Enjoyed his visit, sounds like it's between us and UW for him, although he didn't come out and say that. Spent time with Owa and White while he was on campus.

I'm sorta out of the loop on this one, but what makes Lowe a great and desirable player? I keep hearing about the oregon's "big three". I'm not doubting anyone, but what kind of player can he be at Oregon? I look at his size and speed and think/hope samie parker, but what do I know?
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Sounds like he'd be a faster Pflugrad.

I wouldn't call OSU out of it either just yet. My friend from Jesuit told me he liked the beavers quite a bit, and he mentions them when asked what teams are standing out.
Washington definitely scares me the most though.

I agree with you to about OSU, only because Lowe goes to Jesuit and it seems that any D1 kid that comes out of that school goes to OSU. it's the same way at Lake O too, all there top players seem to end up in Corvallis because of their head coach.UOducksTK1 wrote:I wouldn't call OSU out of it either just yet. Re: Lowe story on Rivals
Keep in mind Oregon doesn't go after Jesuit kids that often. OSU seems to pursue them much harder. None of their prospects within the last 10 years or so have been big recruits. Lowe is by far the biggest recruit to come out of there in a while.RHDuck wrote:I agree with you to about OSU, only because Lowe goes to Jesuit and it seems that any D1 kid that comes out of that school goes to OSU. it's the same way at Lake O too, all there top players seem to end up in Corvallis because of their head coach.UOducksTK1 wrote:I wouldn't call OSU out of it either just yet. These are the type of guys OSU generally lands from Jesuit:

Slade definitely turned out to be a steal.

I've mentioned this here before but Lowe likes to block. That is what makes him an intriguing recruit to me. He could be a very good player for the system.

I go to Jesuit...know the kid a bit. Obviously i think he's a stud cause he is the best player on our team...but i think he will be real successful at the next level. Incredibly fast and hard working. Also killer at track. i dont know why Oregon lets all the JHS kids fall to OSU. They generally end up doing pretty well. Hass, Norris, Remmers (O-line for OSU).

Most of those guys you just named were like 1 or 2 star prospects with no other pac-10 offers and very few d1 offers.ducksball wrote:I go to Jesuit...know the kid a bit. It seems clear to me why Oregon hasn't recruiting Jesuit players in the past. And I personally don't blame them. If Norris didn't hurt his back/leg, I bet he would have been a bigger recruit and Oregon would have been a player.

Re: Lowe story on Rivals
Lowe has said it before and he reiterates it in this article....he would prefer to play receiver in college. The Ducks are recruiting him as an athlete and Lowe says that he feels Oregon is leaning more towards him playing defensive back. If the Ducks want to land him, they will probably have to stop recruiting him as an athlete and make it clear to him they want him as a receiver. If the Ducks don't want to do that since they feel they can land a couple of other receivers that are better, Lowe might end up at Washington or OSU for similar reasons as James Johnson ended up at Washington in the last recruiting class. It is unfortunate that Lowe isn't more neutral about playing either offense or defense in college.

Well if his receiver blocking skills are anything like what people say, he should at least get a shot at receiver.
