That's crazy, to be fair he didn't really play a whole lot. So our sample size for how poorly he played is not enough to properly judge him.

But still surprising for him to be getting this much love. Good for him though.

it's really not surprising. 12 innings of work immediately following TJ surgery? i doubt many scouts ever gave his college work a single thought, outside of whether or not his shoulder fell off the body. he was going to be a very high draft pick before he got hurt in pre-draft workouts in 2011, and that's why he was taken in the 10th round this year. he could have given up double the run production this year and it wouldn't have mattered.

Clayton Crum signed with Tampa Bay so he won't be coming back.

Hopefully Oregon can get enough of their recruiting class in since it seems they're losing players left and right.

No more then anyone else. It's the normal process. They have plenty of arms coming in which will help replenish bullpen depth (replacing Crum, Wiper).

Someone unexpected will surprise (like Cleavinger/Tolman) and step up and help absorb losses. Our weekend rotation returns and that's first and foremost the priority.

It's all good.

Sisco signed with Baltimore.
The Orioles have agreed to terms with their second-round pick, catcher Chance Sisco, pending a physical, which is set for Monday, according to an industry source.

The 18-year-old left-handed hitter was selected in the second round (61st overall) out of Santiago High School in Corona, Calif. he was committed to go Oregon.

Terms are undisclosed, and the Orioles do not announce signings until after the medicals are cleared. Suggested slot for the 61st pick is $913,300.

As a senior, Sisco hit .467 and slugged .747 while not committing an error behind the plate and throwing out 15 would-be base stealers. That performance was enough for Baseball America to project him as a fifth- or sixth-round pick in the draft.

After Cisco was selected on the first day, this is what Orioles scouting director Gary Rajsich had to say: “He just started catching this year. But he is a hitter that also catches. We like his bat a lot. We think he is going to have power. And he just started catching and is a natural back there. He is very flexible. Something to work with. He has got a chance to learn and be a real good catcher. He has a chance to be a front-line catcher.”

From Karaviotis:
Karaviotis, a two-time MIL first-team pick at shortstop, went with the 14th selection in the 39th round, 1,170th overall.

Both players said they will discuss contracts before deciding if they want to opt to play in college.

Karaviotis, listed as 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, has accepted a scholarship to the University of Oregon, and indicated that he expects to play for the Ducks.

d"(The Diamondbacks) want to meet and talk with me in the next few days," Karaviotis said. "If it meets my standards, I will sign, but being drafted where I was, it will probably not meet my stanards. It's definitely a great acknowledgment, though, and I have that, or playing for one of the top five college teams in the country."

That sounds like he'll be a Duck.

So far, I see Oregon losing 9 players from last year's team (could be 10 if Thomas signs) due to the draft. I suspect at least 3 more will transfer, although there aren't many young guys that would benefit from doing that. That leaves about 11 confirmed players from the 2013 recruiting class. Plus, I'd suspect there might be some JC signees that aren't up on PerfectGame USA's commitment list.

Article from today about Christy and his decision. Doesn't reveal anything about what or when he'll decide.
“The coaches have been calling almost every day to see what I am going to do and try to get me to stay with Oregon,”
“I love the outdoors of Oregon and hate being cooped up inside,” Christy said. “I went to the rivalry football game against Oregon State and it was an insane atmosphere.”

Really want him to show up at Oregon since I'm just not impressed with what Oregon has returning at catcher.

I think Karaviotis and Christy stay. Harris is the one last guy that is probably on the fence. Based on where he was selected, he might end up signing with a team.
