Whoever started that is awesome.

I can't believe the news anchor didn't catch on to what she was reading...like she's the female version of Ron Burgundy.
I think its because they mentioned that those names were confirmed by the NTSB and it was the NTSB who announced that it was a summer interns fault. Still, that happened, lol.

That intern rocks.

From what I've seen the prosecution has done a terrible job and in yesterdays closing argument as I recall they tried to use 2 different theories which means if you have multiple theories, you obviously have concerns of doubt with one of them. They can't find him guilty of it, but we all know george is guilty of being stupid as all he had to do was declare who he was and this never happens.
Agreed, this was tragic, and I think GZ could be found guilty in Civil Court. This is a case of a guy trying to play vigilante-wanna-be-cop and a young troubled teen with an authority problem. Those two things clash like Orange and Green. And you're 100% right in that it was completely avoidable. Is it really self-defense if an assault is provoked?

What really bothers me is how the media and most young African Americans are blaming this on White Racism.

Eric Dungy's Facebook Post:

"Being White is still the thing to be I guess..."

Chad Peppars FB Post:

"This is a perfect example showing us that we have a long way to go in America before we get to the place we need to be."

Lebron James FB Picture:

"We are Trayvon Martin. Hoodies. Stereotyped. We Want Justice."

This list goes on and on. How is it that a hispanic that was found not guilty of second degree murder or manslaughter by a jury of six women ends up being interpreted by African American popular culture this way?

So basically if someone's white-Hispanic, they're white, but if their black-white, then they're black. Double standards and more racial tension being created for political and ratings sake. This case should have stayed a local case and never been such a national and dividing story. Only once people like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson Jr. got involved did it become so blown up.

I should have edited my post to include that if Trayvon hadn't attacked George, it wouldn't have happened either. (See Jonathan Good's testimony) Just because George followed him it didn't give him the right to attack him either.

These "terms" only serve to continually imprint race into the conversation repeatedly. The only purpose this serves is to divert attention away from other things, like actually talking about the role of security guards and neighborhood watch and in what capacity to serve they have, to the socioeconomic factors that come together to create areas of mass-violence. We've got a plethora of problems in this country that are more important than this, but hey, lets all go Eric Cartman with the race wars! In his prime, Louis Farrakhan would make a pretty good #1 pick but Strom Thurmond did run for the Presidency on a segregationist platform. Maybe since its a sports board we could go with a Top 10 racists of all-time for hilarity's sake.

Didn't take but a few hours for one of the jurors to get a book deal and be on tv. Welcome to America.

But she said she's not doing it to make money or anything but because of the perspective that her husband is an attorney. Really riveting stuff, think I'll get back to my casual reading about Marius vs Sulla.

Just read where someone on twitter hounded the literary agent to drop this gal and it actually worked. The juror has now "changed" her mind. Can't imagine you'd be able to sleep at night profiting off of someone's tragic death. Glad cooler heads prevailed.

Abu Gharib is in the news again, along with a summer of violence in Iraq! Don't look now though, the Royal Baby might be seen for 5 seconds and clearly this is much more important!

I love the logic of Matt Barnes as it really underscores the entire issue to me.
"The word I used is a word that's used on the court, used in the locker room, used amongst my friends and family; it's a regular word to me," Barnes said. "I think my mistake was using it in a social manner, which I regret and I apologize for it. But you guys have to get used to it."
"If you look at the particular way I said it, kids are seeing that through music, through their favorite artists, and probably some of their favorite movies and even on TV now," Barnes said Friday. "The word is not necessarily a racial slur. Everyone is trying to paint it like I made some kind of hate crime or something. It's a word that I guarantee you will be used out here on the court today. It's a word that I've already heard in the locker room. It's not as big a deal as people are trying to make it.

"My mistake was making it in a social manner in the platform I used it on."
"This is a new day and age, and for my generation, that's a very common word," Barnes said. "You hear it on the radio, you hear it in movies, you hear it on TV. It is what it is. It was never intended for any person on the team."
"I think the way it's said makes people cringe," Barnes said. "I think if you put an -er at the end, that makes people cringe, but if there's an -a at the end, that's like people saying 'bro.' That's just how we address people now. That's how we address our friends. That's how we talk. That's how my wife talks. That's how my family talks. People talk that way now. I think if you put the -er on it, it's offensive, and if you have an -a on it, it's more slang."
"Emotion takes over, and you do and say things that you don't mean," Barnes said. "I realized the particular word I used was probably going to be blown out of proportion. I got a text from my agent and a text from couple of other people saying you need to take that down, and I was already in the process of doing that.

"That was my biggest mistake. It was all out of emotion and frustration and out of the fact that Serge has history with this team. We don't like him, and he doesn't like us. I should never have pushed him, but the fact that I pushed him doesn't warrant an ejection. If Chris [Paul] would have pushed him, would that have been an ejection? If [Kevin Durant] had pushed him, would that have been an ejection? You could answer that yourselves."

Well, I think there is a large group of people in Idaho, So. Oregon etc who would tell you to just "get used" to their White Supremacist culture using the N'er word the same way Rachel Jeantel and others use "Cracker" to describe white people and feel its usage is justified due to their "culture."

I can just imagine Matt Barnes 100 years ago commenting on Jim Crow laws by telling others to "get used to it."

Frankly whenever I hear people use the word, I'm reminded of the end of the always funny "The F-Word" audio bit explaining the versatility of the word.
I'm sure you can think of many more examples.

With all these multi-purpose applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word. We say use this unique, flexible word more often in your daily speech.

It will identify the quality of your character immediately.

Say it loudly and proudly: F' YOU!
