So, if he says he didn't do it. Then it turns out he did... Couldn't the IRS come after him?

It's considered a form of income, so yes303DucksFan wrote:So, if he says he didn't do it. Then it turns out he did... Couldn't the IRS come after him?

Actually I think they said that he violated the spirit of the game, which is a lame excuse.USUaggieDuck wrote:They could prove a minor violation of a different rule. That's the grounds for the half game.stewbertwilloughby wrote:If they can't prove he really did anything wrong, why suspend him at all? Are they trying to save face (and failing), but still profit off of him while he can't?
To me the NCAA is saying "hey, we know you did this, we know you got paid, we just can't prove it. Here's a warning for you"

But these aren't cops; they're little #%*#%#'s.
It wasn't for a charity; it was for a dealer. Who donates their time to a for-profit company?
Nothing at all like the example you gave. The NCAA has NOTHING, all they have is what we heard on ESPN. The “video” that has been shown to folks like Joe Schad has not been given to them, the people who took the video refuses to come forward to the NCAA, and they can’t prove he received any money. So they got him for what they could, and that is the by law that says he can’t aid another (other than the university of course) from profiting from his name.
So to use your cop analogy, it would be like if a cop pulled over a guy and his back seat is full of empty beer bottles and he is the only one in the car. The driver denies he drank them, he passes all of the field sobriety test that he is asked to do, and the cop can’t force him to take a breathalyzer to give him the evidence he needs for a DWI so the cop is left with the only thing he can do, and that is to write him an open container ticket because there is no way he can prove he is drunk. I don’t like it, but it is what it is.
