What are our chances with this kid? I don't see why these in state kids would even want to look at other schools.

“I love the spread, I think I can use my athletic ability the best in it. However, I am not afraid to learn a new offense. Give me a week or two to study it and learn it and then I will be set. Learning plays and new offenses comes easy for me, I just need a week or so and I got it. I can play in anything,” says Nielson.

I know O-line isn't run by NickA, but that is a lot of confidence.

Maybe it is more about us not really looking at them..... If he camps well, he might get a preferred walk-on offer or something.

Nielson is a good kid.. I'm helping coach at sheldon this year and have been around the program for the last two months and I'm no steve greatwood but Nielson possess everything that makes a good linemen.. He is very knowledgeable and I could see him picking up the offense pretty quickly.. He's a good kid, should get an offer in my book.

Nielson is a recruit who all it will take is one good camp and then an offer. Once the first offer comes a long schools will realize they cant string them along and they need to offer.

Is Nielson Oregon ready? IMO, he needs to dominate at the camp. He has the size and athlectic ability to.

Derek is a very bright young man and I wouldn't be suprised to see him end up at
Stanford. IMO we need to keep kids like this instate he has grown up tailgating and
going to Duck games.
