DT Reports Lowe to UW

Post by Destroyer77 »

I hope it's not true, but I'm sure it is since the poster and site/forum are highly credible. It's unfortunate that Lowe is now our mortal enemy. :)

Washington has coaching changes yet they seem to be having no problems with recruiting of late.

I am sure there are some dirty, illegal tricks going on at UW, just like at Tennessee and USC. Sark and Kiffin learned from the best. I have a hard time believing all of these top rated guys would commit to a team in the dumps rather than a team close to being a NC contender. If these guys the Ducks have been going after that have committed to Washington or Tennessee picked other schools that have winning teams over the Ducks I could understand, but just because these schools have tradition and new dirt bag coaches doesn't mean they are going to get back to the level they were once at.

Even with all of these big pick ups for Washington they are still going to suck and Oregon will continue their recent dominance over them!!

"I love ... the direction the program is going in."

Which direction is that, exactly?

This frustrates me when the Ducks can land in-state talent :x

Well, according to Lowe, the Ducks weren't recruiting him as strictly a receiver. They were recruiting him as an athlete and he felt they were leaning towards playing him at defensive back. Lowe made it clear he wanted to play receiver in college, so I can only assume the Oregon coaches like some other recruits better at receiver. If not, they dropped the ball with his recruitment since they weren't doing what it took to land him, which was to make him feel like a priority at strictly receiver.

The Ducks are in the mix for a ton of receivers, so I wouldn't worry too much about this. Even though I would have liked to have landed Lowe, it is entirely possible that in the end the Ducks will end up with a couple of receivers in this class that are just as good, if not potentially better, than him.

He must not like having to deal with the stress of winning.

I dont blame Lowe for choosing UW. He wanted to play WR all along. Now he can play the position he wants to play at a D1 school, a bad one, but a D1 school none the less. Plus you cant account for kids choosing schools because of illegal recruiting. It happens every year, kids choose schools for lots of different reasons other than playing for a winning program.

I'm pissed because I wanted us to sign this kid. However, I won't say that there is anything fishy going on at UW. He wants to play there because, well honestly, they suck and the depth chart at WR is wide open. The are other programs out there that are committing multiple unethical slash illegal recruiting acts (Tenn, OU, etc.), but I have my doubts that UW is one of them.

UW didn't do anything wrong I believe either. As Vinny said, Lowe wants to play WR. That's it. Had Oregon offered him as a WR it probably would have been over. THey didn't, and probably were never going to, so.... Good luck to Lowe and better to find out now than later IMO.

I hate the dawgs as much as anyone on here. I always route for whoever is playing them and when they lost every game last year I didnt mind. I do not think though is any cheating going on. People there am sure are excited about their new coach just as they were when Willingham took over. I still think Willingham is a good coach he just couldnt get people to come to Washington. As far as Lowe goes.. their is only one direction the Dawgs can go. He will be undoubtedly a good player and they have perhaps a good qb at least he has the genes for it. There will come a day when the Dawgs can compete again. I do not think will be this year but someday it is coming. I hate that but see it as being inevitable and does not mean they are cheating per se. If Lowe wanted to play receiver and the ducks were wanting him on defense this does not surprise me. Put yourself in his shoes. I would have gone to a school with few more wins last few years but I can at least understand his logic.

Until UW starts getting quality Lineman, count me as unimpressed and not worried because UO will still throw their lineman around like children and gain over 300yds on the ground.
