Dakota Royer is up to 25 scholarship offers, and getting that list down to 10 schools has been an excruciating task, he told Sporting News.
The Manheim (Pa.) Central DL/LB lists Illinois, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Virginia Tech, UCLA and West Virginia as his finalists. North Carolina, Oregon and Virginia Tech have been the most recent to offer him, he said.
Most of the schools in his top 10 are relatively close to his Pennsylvania home, but UCLA and Oregon stick out. His outdoorsman side and the school’s atmosphere helped get the Ducks into the picture—despite the distance from home.
“You just look at it and how fun it looks to be in that stadium,” Royer told SN. “Just looking at it, it’s a pretty crazy, rocking place to play. They catch a lot of people’s attention with their uniform. When you get their mail and stuff, each individual player has a plasma TV inside their locker. It’s really different out there. If I want to get away from home, that’s all the way across the country.”

Good find. Sounds pretty intriguing. If he's comfortable with travel, sounds like we're in play.

Pretty nice list of offers. It sounds like Oregon is one of his top teams so hopefully he makes a trip out to Eugene and hopefully his parents go along with him and are not scared of him being far away from home.

He seems that he would fit in well at Oregon since his team plays a gap control type of defense, which is what is similar to what Oregon runs. I just have a feeling though that he'll stay on the East Coast since most players tend to and Oregon hasn't had a whole lot of luck out of signing people from back east.

That is a loaded offer list. Not sure how updated Rivals list is, but they have us in his top 5.
