Nice. I put good CB's very high on the priority list. Getting burned on the outside is the worst possible way to lose games.

Re: Big-time CB has Oregon on top
This is awesome news.
http://tennessee.scout.com/a.z?s=7&p=8&c=1&nid=3797498
On scout he just recently said he favors Oregon and Tennessee
Stephenson is a big time CB, landing him would be huge. Another big recruit from a state full of talent is always great because it opens up the playing field that much more!

I wonder if in Tennessee country if they wonder if people in Oregon have electricity yet. It sounds like something Kiffin might tell tyhe recruits.

Kiffin: "That thing, you know - that round thing in the ceiling - it makes the room bright; whatever the hell that is, they don't have that in Oregon ... You only get that in Tennessee!"

Did some back and forth over Stephenson. Wasn't too exciting. They just said that he will definitely be a Vol because it will give him his best chance to make it to the NFL. I guess they never heard of Byrd.
Now, we've started into another Bryce Brown disagreement in the Munchie Legaux thread. I told them he might still end up as a Duck.

It's laughable that anyone can argue that somehow being a Vol is better for someone with NFL aspirations. What? Tenn... a crappy program right now... a better option to get to the NFL.... how's that? Someone apply logic here for me.wheaton4prez wrote:Did some back and forth over Stephenson. Wasn't too exciting. Evidently, the judgement is based on the idea that, given Tennessee's tradition from the good ole daze, plus Kiffin's history (Albeit poor, at best, failure to the thinking world...) in the NFL, gives the Vols a superior standing in the eyes of recruits.

Some of them do like to cite their NFL history from the old days. But, I think some of them will say now that the NFL experience of their coordinators and other staff will help in that regard.
In my view, a players NFL potential is largely already determined by their ability. Whether or not they go high in the draft or at all depends more on exposure and stats. And you don't get as much exposure or stats on a losing team.
And even most die-hard Vol fans acknowledge that they don't expect to do that well for 1-2 seasons.
