Scales enjoyed visit to Eugene

He says he plans on making an official visit for the USC or OSU game
He is being recruited to play the rover position like Patrick Chung
He loved the weather and people in Eugene
Darron Thomas showed him and the other guys around
He rated the trip a 9 out of 10

"How would you compare your visit at Cal to Oregon?"

"Very similar, but Oregon's facilities are much better. Cal is supposed to be building some new facilities in the next year or so."

Scales may or may not be a duck, if it were up to him he would already be a duck, but that offer is on hold for now it seems.

Any reason why? That is a position of need for the Ducks and he is a highly skilled player

I think it's a case where we have only so many offers at the DB positions and they are getting filled by people who are higher up on the staff's list.

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems like there has been a number of offers and then retractions. I don't think Oregon is a reputable enough program yet to be making an offer to kids and if the kid doesn't jump on it right away they take it away. In my opinion that is a quick way to scare off other kids. Some kids take time to make their decision.

So far just Scales and Watson that we know of. And it's not good no, but it isn't anything that USC or Alabama doesn't do daily practically. THe Scales offer isn't rescinded, just on hold for now per say.

There is nothing wrong with it, it' not a bad thing, the staff is upfront all the way. We are that big of an offer out West, it's USC, Oregon and Cal right now for national kids looking to go West.

seems to me that the kids that do take there time to decide always go somewhere else. I know thats not always the case but it sure does feel like it. Im sure its just the roller coaster we call recruiting.

If all the written offers are like the one Tate Forcier put up on his website before they even say in it that the offer is conditional on good grades, a maintaining of their level of play, and the availability of scholarships or something to that effect so these kids know, even here in Canada the coaches are quick to say that there is only so much room in a class so the faster you commit the better, sometimes its just a method of locking a kid up and other times its the truth. In the end though, this is a much better way of doing business, even if it reflects poorly sometimes, it is much better than just signing as many players as possible and then getting rid of them when they have no other choices.

Stanford as well. They have kids from all across the country already verbally committed.

Mathis and Stephenson are still on the board and are both high on the ducks.

With already one CB, odds are we will only take one more CB (maybe two).
