Again ... thank you for saying what I have been thinking. I will never join DT, and I couldn't care less if DT is having problems ... this isn't DT!NCDucks09 wrote:Since when did this free site become a advertisement medium to promote a pay site in DT?
KEEP DUCKS NEWS FREE!!! There's always the Oregonian and Register Guard to fall back on.

Re: Problems with Duckterritory.com
Considering 2 of our admin moved from here to DT, I have no problem with them advertising. After all, they are kind enough to allow mops to still share some info occasionally.NCDucks09 wrote:Since when did this free site become a advertisement medium to promote a pay site in DT?

And ultimately it's your choice. You are by no means forced to join DT. Ducks Attack will still be floating around.

Re: Problems with Duckterritory.com
ducksterritory.com is now lumped with scout.com and rivals.com in my book. These sites are way too expensive and they get upset when you spread information they claim to "own". I'm glad people are out there keeping tabs on our recruits and getting good information but it just doesn't seem like we should be paying this much for information. what does DT offer that the others don't? It all seems the same to me. This forum rocks and if the people in the know don't want to continue to share information like before it is very very sad but that is their choice. There is a lot of people out there with connections to the football team and coaching staff, hopefully someone who loves the ducks as much we all do here on this site would be willing to share their info with us without demanding money for it.

It's up to you but when it comes to premium information, there's people that do pay for that so that's why that is enforced.blackjack17 wrote:ducksterritory.com is now lumped with scout.com and rivals.com in my book. It's hypocritical when DT is telling their people not to spread their premium information, but take the Rivals and Scout info on their board with open arms.

We have the same rule as the others, you must site the source and give credit where it's due. How is that different from Educk or DSA?

Re: Problems with Duckterritory.com
I have been posting stuff from DT and haven't received any static from any of the guys. I have been doing the same thing as I would other sites, citing the source, posting the link for those who are members and giving a basic rundown of what the article says.tonyd wrote:Example?mjenk99 wrote:It's hypocritical when DT is telling their people not to spread their premium information, but take the Rivals and Scout info on their board with open arms.

Take a glance at eDuck's Open Season, and you are just as likely to see cited references to DT articles as any other source.
Good info will get spread around, regardless of where it comes from.

Agreed. And if it wasn't for this board, I wouldn't have found a few other sites I like to check.woundedknees wrote:Take a glance at eDuck's Open Season, and you are just as likely to see cited references to DT articles as any other source.

Cite other Duck sites all you want. If it's against the Board rules, the admins will say something. If it's a pay site, pay if you want or don't pay if you don't want. That's the beauty of the net!

Re: Problems with Duckterritory.com
It's capitalism, I don't have a problem with it haha (not trying to be political)
Duck Territory was starting up and needed some good writers for Oregon Duck related news. They came here and got the best guys for the job, who happened to contribute a lot of the stories we love to read. Amazing for us? Not really, but those guys had their work pay off and I think that is pretty great. In fact DT has been a lot more giving when it comes to information from them making it on to this board than I ever felt scout was when recruiting information was on open season.
Bottom line though, some people are willing to pay for the information and some are not. If I were in their shoes guess who I would serve first?
Things may have changed a little bit but this is still one of the first places I check when I log in.
