Still, industry sources told CBSSports.com two schools that will almost certainly be involved are Kentucky and Oregon -- both of which have obvious connections to William Wesley, a major person of influence in the sport. Wesley (more commonly known as "Worldwide Wes" or simply as "Wes") has a close and very public relationship with Kentucky coach John Calipari, Oregon assistant Kenny Payne, and Nike Basketball.

Kentucky and Oregon are both Nike schools.

Tennessee is an Adidas school.

HMmmm... Worldwide Wes, eh?

Seems he's involved a lot with the Ducks over the last couple seasons.

Maybe one of Kenny Payne's best contacts?

Ranked as the #2 PG by scout (#7 player in the country) and the #3 PG by rivals.

Hopefully mops could give us a bit more info on Selby and his recruiting.

Where did WWW's strong connection to Calipari arise from?

I think it possibly came from Dajuan Wagner, who knew WWW from his dad's days playing ball in New Jersey. Wagner's dad was also part of the staff at Memphis while his son went there. I know there was some talk back in the day that WWW had something to do with it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldwide_Wes
"Wesley's ties with former Memphis basketball Coach John Calipari (now with Kentucky) and close ties with several recruits who later committed and played for Memphis (including Milt Wagner's son DaJuan Wagner, Derrick Rose, and Tyreke Evans) have raised eyebrows and led some to call for an NCAA investigation into Wesley's involvement in recruiting at Memphis. To date no action has been taken by the NCAA."

"The message boards at Kentucky are running wild with speculation that Selby, who is a Top 10 recruit, is now reportedly considering the Cats, along with Memphis and Oregon.

In some respects, Kentucky might make sense for Selby if he wants to follow in the footsteps of other great point guards who have played for John Calipari - DeJuan Wagner, Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans - who were all top six picks in the NBA draft and freshman signee John Wall, who seems destined to become a high lottery pick after a one and done.

But is it worth the aggravation? If Selby does choose Kentucky, it could create a huge firestorm in the SEC between bitter conference rivals. Stay tuned."

I don't think the Ducks really have much of a shot with him with Kentucky in the picture

Yeah, he's not really in contact with the coaches. Unless things change big time this is just a pipe dream unfourtunately.
