Re: Confirmed Ethan Grant Will Visit Eugene
I am not too sure Ethan is a lock to commit this weekend. If he feels it sure he will, but we would need to blow him away on his visit to get him to do it. Yes it means a lot that he is paying his own way out here to check out the campus and that must mean we really have a great shot. I am however not going to fall into the group that says hes an auto commit over the weekend. Do I think we get him, yes I do, but I wont be shocked if he doesnt pull the trigger over the weekend.

I don't think Brown would and Grant would share the same role.. In my opinion, if Brown came next year, he would fill JJ's role (don't sleep on Lamichael James) and then after Blount departs, would assume the power role..
So if Grant came, it'd be him and James fighting for time in the more elusive role..

Ethan grant has forty times that are ridiculously fast(can someone find a link??)... I doubt Brown (or LMJ) would really compete head to head with Grant at the RB position. With someone like Ethan that is that fast sure he would make a great RB, but why not put him in the slot, motion him around... Run the Wild cat with him, Brown and Harper... Put him in at RB a few plays. Let him be a percy harvin type player and just get him in open space. With speed like that, Ethan could do some wild wild stuff... I sure hope the guy sticks with oregon through the recruiting process...

I don't want him commiting right away. Brown could see that and decide to go elsewhere.

I disagree. Why would a 2010 RB effect BB's decision? I really don't think Bryce cares about other commits anyways, he's very confident in his own ability. Which he should be since he's the top player in the nation.duckgrad99 wrote:I don't want him commiting right away. Brown could see that and decide to go elsewhere.

Grant and Brown will not effect the other in any negative way. they are different styles of runners and we need both styles. Like I said above, we virtually have two starting rb spots. A bruiser or more bigger type back with less front end speed and then we have the small shifty back that has quick top end speed.

That's true, let me phrase it differently. If we do in fact get Brown, I don't think Grant is a "need".

Ethan and his mom are now in Oregon and so far his mom loves it. I think it has been stated before but his family is strongly on our side this time.

Re: Confirmed Ethan Grant Will Visit Eugene
If these were the only 2 scenarios...
Get Grant NOW BUT no Bryce Brown
OR
Play the waiting game on both, with the chance Bryce goes to UM and Grant blows up and chooses a more traditional power
I'd take option 1..if he is really that fast, Grant would be a God send.

When it comes from another board thats a pay site, it needs to be like " a poster on DSA is saying Ethan and his mom have arrived and love it. The poster is well informed".lukeyrid13 wrote:Alright my bad. I thought it was ok if we summarized. But I will make sure to give them credit next time
