James Johnson commited to UW?
The Washington Scout site's premium recruiting board says he committed.

I can't understand how a young man can make that decision. I know he wasn't our #1 choice but how can you turn down a program like ours to go and play in cold and rainy Seattle? I wish him good luck but I believe that will be a decision that he will regret soon enough!

Re: James Johnson commited to UW?
He must have been scared by the WR competition at Oregon and figured since the Fuskies don't have any athletes he would get plenty of playing time. I hope he likes losing though, because he will be doing a lot of that, especially to the Ducks the next four years.

Re: James Johnson commited to UW?
Not trying toot my own horn, but here's what I posted 1-2 days ago re James Johnson:
4. James Johnson: I think our coaches may not be as high on JJ as they were earlier. This kid had us as his fave going way back to summer. He had plenty of time to trip here and pull the trigger, but he waited until last weekend. He liked his Utah trip and suddenly he's going to UW when they weren't in the conversation at all. Don't be surprised if he commits to the Dawgs shortly after his trip. They can sell much earlier p.t. and my bet is they show him more luv than we did.
==========================================================
Obviously we'll have to wait and see if the Dawgs' info is accurate. But if it is and this kid pulled the trigger for them before his trip was even over, then what does that tell you? They told him what he wanted to hear and we didn't. He's willing to immediately commit to a school that just got in on him over the school he has favored since last summer. Me thinks he didn't like we what told him last weekend.

This is why college football recruiting is not a science, everyone thought Johnson was in our back pocket. Next thing you know he is supposedly a Fuskie. This is why you can ever be sure of anything until a LOI is signed.

I guess this shows Sark is a force to be reckoned with in the recruiting game.

Seems pretty amazing to me that this kid can show up and in 24 hours commit to UW after having a great visit the weekend before to Oregon. I would not count this one as being over, seems a little early to be announcing this decision. COuld be true, but I'm not convinced yet myself.

Re: James Johnson commited to UW?
I think that the coaches must have really backed off of him. The only way they would have done that is if we had several other WR commits ie Wheaton, Gaines and Jackson and maybe Hall. If we don't get 3 out of those 4(or another surprise WR) then the coaches really bungled this one and it would be another example of just failing on WR recruiting

I wouldn't give Sark to much credit. In JJ's last update he talked about a family friend on the UW staff that was key in his recruitment for the fuskies.Tray Dub wrote:I guess this shows Sark is a force to be reckoned with in the recruiting game.

Well this sucks this is a guy I really wanted us to have because I think he's going to be a good one...now if this news is true I can't route for a Husky in any way!
Bloody hell I'm sure the other 3-5 WRs we get are equal to or better but damn it!
GO DUCKS!!
