He has not done "quite well doing so". He threw some passes against bail-out coverage with a cushion lead, and then he tossed a pass against Oregon State on a trick play. I'm not saying Boyd is "better" than Thomas, I'm saying he could be on par once Spring practices are out (which Boyd will be here for, Winter graduate) simply based on the fact that he is a much higher regarded passer from not only national outlets, but simply watching both player's game tape.
