His acceleration is incredible, especially on the corner where he always seemed to be a step ahead of the pursuit as he turned, where holes develope he's into the secondary before the D' realizes he's got the ball. Maybe still growing and could fill out in the next couple of years. That interest to come cross country this early and commit is huge IMO.
Could you imagine Brown and Grant in the Ducks backfield? Well you don't need to imagine it because in a couple of years we will see them as Ducks alternating series. Sweet!!!!

I got a PM from one of the big whigs on eDuck after I posted that EG was visiting. He said that Grant wouldn't be more than a 1 or 2* player. Sure looks like a 3 or 4* to me. Then again a lot of people think that unless your from a BIG school you're wasting your time recruiting players from "small" schools. Anybody watching the Pittsburg/Baltimore game? Do you see #43 for the Steelers? He played high school football with my son at a "small" school. Not too bad of a player now is he? Douglas High School in Winston, Oregon is a school of around 1000 kids on a good day...

They are idiots. He will most likely be a 4*, at worst a high 3*.
Yeah I can verify the 2* rating on scout. Apparently the guy who rates the kids in FL isn't very high on Grant at this time but I've also heard that on Rivals he will be a 4* so who knows, he could blow up as a SR and we'll found a gem early in the recruiting game. Bottom line if he's good enough for CK he's more than good enough for me. Here is a highlight vid I found on him.

Actually Troy was very interested in Oregon, but he wanted to play baseball also. He was actually going to play baseball at USC but Petey F-bomb told him NO. Troy and his Uncle Salu were in Eugene getting ready to visit Stanford and when they got to the airport it seems Stanford only sent 1 airline ticket. So Troy and his uncle instead got in touch with someone at the O (forget who) and took an unofficial visit and loved everything about the Ducks, but he still wanted to play both football and baseball. Seems we were a couple or 5 or 6 years late restarting our baseball program.

I posted on eDuck that EG was visiting and that evening I received a PM from the top of eDuck saying he (EG) would probably only be a 1 or 2 star recruit at best. The PM was from a friend of mine and I'd rather not divulge who it was.

I watched his video and this kid has wheels and is not afraid of contact. A little light in the shorts, however. Used in the right situation and he could be a fast strike weapon.
Rivals says he has a 40 time of 4.19 in their article. He is a junior for crying out loud, so he will bulk up. Of course, the time is unbelievable and probably hand timed but you get the gist.
First of all, I don't think Oregon would have wasted much time on a running back this early if they didn't think he was going to amount to much. Second, Grant was starting to hear from some major programs. If he is a 1 or 2 star, that will be laughable. Didn't scout also have Masoli as a 1 star? Hilarious!!!!

Don't get my wrong. I think, especially in our offense, he can be a huge big play threat. He looks Devine fast.
