Oregon recruiting class thus far

Post by bigsugarduck »

HAS to be the best its ever been at this point in the year by a long shot....

Off of Rivals 4 *** and 4**** commits. Damn. By average stars per recruit the ducks are in the top 15 in the country so far which is about where I'd expect the class to be ranked when its all said and done even with a small class size.

I think most of us would agree that depth accross the positions has been as good as it has ever been, and I look forward to that continuing in the years to come.

YEY Depth! :D
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

2007 might have started off stronger, but so far this class is loaded.

Another thing is even the 3*s are highly ranked. All of them are rated as 5.7s, which is .1 away from a 4*. If you back & look at past classes the 5.7 guys almost always end up being big contributers. Casey Matthews, Dewitt Stuckey & Marvin Johnson were all 5.7 guys. One could argue we have a class full of 4*s so far.

Before it is all said and done they could move up to a 4* ranking as well. There is a lot of time to get more 4* guys and possibly land a couple of 5* guys and time for they guys we have to possibly move up a ranking so this could end up being our best class ever!

I think the 2008 Recruiting Class was Oregon's strongest to date. However, it would have been nice if more of them stuck around. We really could have used C.Harper this year!

The Pac-10 is off to a great start in recruiting. 7 of the Pac-10 schools are in the top 25 average star rankings.
