#1 ATH Greg Johnson visiting

Post by greenyellow »

Oregon continues adding big name visitors in January, this time from #1 ATH and former UA commit Greg Johnson on January 20th. He's HS teammates with uncommitted 5* WR Joseph Lewis and his brother is a 2018 USC commit. http://247sports.com/Player/Greg-Johnson-75934

Many thought it was a two-way fight between Nebraska and USC for his commitment but him scheduling a visit for Oregon when they were off the radar for so long throws a wrench into that previous thinking. It'll be interesting.

Seems like there's going to be a lot of signees between 5'8-6'0.

Committed:
Jaylon Redd - CB or Slot WR
Thomas Graham - CB or Slot WR
Darrian McNeal - Slot WR or CB
Darrian Felix - RB or Slot WR
CJ Verdell - RB
Demetrius Douglas - CB or S

Drivers Seat:
Bruce Judson - RB or Slot WR
Deommodore Lenoir - CB or S

Seems they perhaps need to focus on getting some bigs.

These guys are all highly rated though, once they have a full year to recruit where they can get an early jump on guys and build those relationships they might go after those taller guys. That would be my guess, focusing on filling out this class they feel they have a good chance with.

STU-- you've always been spot on. I think they'll add 2 LBs (including the JC kid Gary Johnson) and the kid from Hawaii and 2 DEs- Artis is a real possibility, as is Joe Tryon. DT- Kamilo Tongamoa. 2 x OL- Caleb Chandler (if we get the OL coach from Alabama) and one more two be named later. Make sense? Agree? Disagree?

I'd add Mekhi Becton as a guy they have a shot with. Michigan was considered his leader, but they just landed Chuck Filiaga which could push him our direction.

Do you agree with the others I listed? Who needs Duck Territory anyway.

Honestly, haven't seen solid intel except for Johnson. Him and Isaac Slade-Matautia seem like the most likely linebacker commits.

Agreed. I am piecing together bits of information. Instead of sloothing, I call it jhoping. I just don't charge.
