Re: Tyjon Lindsey decommits
At this stage in the game with a new staff, there are limited options for taller receivers because those seem to be the ones most schools go after first. Thompson is the main one that comes to mind. The best WRs available now are the shorter ones so Oregon should get a few now just to get some bodies on the WR depth chart and start going after the bigger ones next year.

To me this is the most important thing. Looking at DTR and that outside linebacker they have in the 2018 class. It would be great to have a relationship already built with the school.DuckedOut wrote:
Frankly, if we get Lindsey, I'd just be happy that it helps open a door into BG.

Agreed, I care more about the pipeline. I think Lindsey is good but more in line with an average 4 star recruit not a top 30 player like he is now.rpmunn wrote:To me this is the most important thing. Wiltfong just cb'd him to Miami.fwiwQB11 wrote:Don't see the need for Lindsey at UO and frankly hope we don't get involved. We already have two 5'9 WR committed and are in a good spot for Jeff Thomas who is 2x the player Lindsey is. Lindsey lacks any kind of too end burst. We need long outside WR that's where we have a serious depth issue

If he's willing to leave Illinois I'm very confident he's Oregon. His kid is the major block.OregonDonor wrote:Wiltfong just cb'd him to Miami.fwiwQB11 wrote:Don't see the need for Lindsey at UO and frankly hope we don't get involved. How did Lindsey drop off so much. I heard people refer to him as the top slot WR in the country as a sophomore.

A few reasons: 1) transferred to Corona Centennial HS in the spring but they wouldn't accept his transfer request so went back to Bishop Gorman and 2) had two injuries (broken collarbone and torn meniscus) that limited him to about 3 games this past season.Phenom wrote:How did Lindsey drop off so much. Could mean nothing, could mean something.
Also, I wonder what the story is here. Interesting..

From those tweets, it doesn't sound like him and Ohio State parted on the best of terms and he's trying to get out ahead of any rumors that may appear online.

Word is that him and Tate Martell had a falling out.

I heard urban may have pulled his offer.....And waited until Martell(hs teammate) was already on campus before he pulled it. Super shady if so but not at all surprised

DB move by Meyer but makes sense because he really wanted Tate.lukeyrid13 wrote:I heard urban may have pulled his offer.....And waited until Martell(hs teammate) was already on campus before he pulled it. Super shady if so but not at all surprised

Re: Tyjon Lindsey decommits
I'm not sure why he wanted Martell since he's a short, small-handed QB that should never have been a 5* recruit. Many analysts said he should be closer to a low 4*/high 3* guy.
