Kanan Ray, 3* Guard, UCLA Commit

Post by scoducks »

Just reading the tea leaves on this one, but is there a possible flip here from Coach Cristobal? Adrian Klemm was his primary recruiter, and we all know he just got fired from UCLA. Also along with that Cristobal and Ray started following each other on twitter. Could be something to keep an eye on.

i dont want a 3 star guard. we didn't drop $4M on ace recruiters to steal shitty recruits from inferior programs.

:3

(He looks like a good target considering the offer list, but that photo is baaaaaaaad.)

A well coached team can take that 3* and make him a 5* Case in point Marcus Mariota was a 3*
if a coach like Cristobal sees something in a player we have to trust his judgement. the rating system
is only that. Sometimes 5* only turn out to be 3* once they get on the field. I judge a players rating once
hes been here 3-4 years with only so many spots open i doubt they use one on the fly.

I'd actually be surprised if we don't flip him. I think with Klemm out, Cristobal will get his man.

I realize it was a joke but we didn't hire Cristobal for his coaching prowess.

Most of the Bama fans and FIU fans I've seen discussing him haven't spoken very highly of his coaching, only his recruiting. I'm sure it is a sour grapes "we didn't need him anyways" kind of a situation though.

His accolades speak for themselves. Look at how his players have played.

Pretty easy to play well when you have a line loaded with NFL talent though.

Yeah, but he recruited them. He's an elite recruiter and a very good coach. The best combination in college football.

Few FIU alums I know who were there when he coached have said pretty glowing things about him and his coaching.

I'm reading that as a negative thing. Few have said nice things. Or should I be reading it as a positive? The few I've spoken to have said glowing things.

Sorry, I'm a simpleton.
