Inside scoop on Falo and Faoliu - Good news coming????

Post by srsmiley007 »

Stole this off of DT so take it for what it's worth (could be BS) but apparently Falo and Faoliu are committing this weekend at the Poly bowl. Apparently Big Joe won them over so much when meeting them in person that they don't need to wait.

If true not only is it awesome, it begs the question, could it be that location wasn't the issue but that our prior coaches just sucked at recruiting? Seriously, if we land Carr, Brooks, Lewis, Johnson, Falo etc, by my count, we will likely crack the top 10 or be very close. This is unheard of for a new staff with literally 30 days to turn things around.

For once, I hope this isn't troll nonsense:
4* TE Josh Falo
3* DL Austin Faoliu

Nothing was said about Falo...and besides, he wouldn't be committed to us if he decided to commit this weekend.

I can easily see Austin Faoliu committing to Oregon at the Polynesian bowl. Yeah I don't know about Falo committing.. I'll call BS on that one. I'll eat crow if he actually does.

Yep. It was Slade and Faoliu commiting. With Faoliu being blown away by Big Joe. Nothing on Falo.

I'm not getting a good vibe on Falo.

Hence the "Take it for what it's worth" comment.

Here's what duck81 said, "Forgive me if this has already been on DT, but Biggins reported around 2:30 today over on Scout that Faoliu is looking very good for the Ducks. His mother said the altered plan was to put off announcing at Saturday's Poly Bowl and then trip to Eugene the last weekend. However, they were so impressed with Big Joe during the in-home that he's decided to announce this Saturday at the game."

Previous staff didn't suck at recruiting they were just old. We also now happen to have the dream team of recruiting gods so that helps.

On a serious note, I think Falo is still an Oregon lean although the amount of TE offers going out makes me want to second guess that. Either way as DuckedOut hinted we want him to commit on NSD.

Even with Falo, we would still need a second and possibly third TE in this class so I am not sure all the offers are any type of a statement on where we are with Falo.

A lot of fans seem to think USC is the main competition for Falo but most recruitniks think Colorado is the main competition, mainly because his brother already plays at CU.

I really, really hope that's true because I think Faoliu's a supremely undervalued player, but I'll carry with me a fair amount of skepticism since he's never been on campus. Not saying it's impossible, but I won't be banking on it is all.

With these Poly kids....I don't think that they necessarily have to make it on campus for their formal visit to commit to Oregon. All that the kid and the family will need is the support of Coach T and the word of Coach Joe that their son WILL be taken care of, then their all good.
