We definitely need help at LB, and I'm hoping we land a 4* type to go with Slade Matautia and Niu

Ellis Brooks is high on my list of wants. I'd really like to see us get some inroads going in the Virginia/Maryland area. I was hoping the home and home series with Virginia might help with that, but so far it hasn't seemed to come to fruition.

I have friends in DC that I visited 4 years ago and during conversations with their friends that are football people ( my friends are not) it became apparent that the people of that area still believed Oregon was a gimmick team that would never be on the level of schools from the South.

After that royal ass whoopin Oregon gave Virginia a year later some of those people seemed to be coming around on Oregon, and even more so after we dispatched Florida State. They loved that one.

There's a ton of talent in that area. Seems like it could be ripe for the picking if we play our cards right.

Got Keith Simms from the Virginia/Maryland area....DC to be exact. I do think that having a staff that has some ties on the east coast is going to help immensely with our recruiting on that side of the country.

Even if Taggart likes recruiting from Florida, I think that's because it's easy pickings right now. He's going to go out and find the best players he can and try to bring them to Oregon, regardless of where in the country they are from.

Good call, and I really like Keith. He's going to be solid for us.

I've got him slotted to start alongside Swain in the middle this upcoming season. Really like his physicality and how he attacks gaps.

Taggart seems to have done a great job of bringing in coaches who have recruiting bases all across the country. We needed that.

I lived in D.C for almost 5 years, prior to moving back to Oregon a year an a half ago and there is a lot of talent in Virginia and Maryland that like the Ducks but it seems clear the previous regime wasn't taking advantage and building those relationships with the coaches and such in the area, I am sure this new staff will do a better job, I am sure a few of them already have some established relationships already.
