Well, for starters, you forgot Breeland and didn't know Cam McCormicks name. Plus they switched Mattingly and Mariota over for depth. I think they will be okay. Mattingly was recruited as a TE by some. Probably a year late on that move.ifuwant2 wrote:Not sure what you mean. He'd have a year to get adjusted to the TE position, but he'd have a lot of competition in 2018 for the spot.
I wouldn't expect him to end up here, but it's something to watch...

You'll have to forgive my lack of precision. Breeland I missed because he has, like, 6 catches and I can never remember his name because Bayliss/Breeland/Brown. Cam has a similar name to a guy who I grew up with named George MacCormac, and I would always get the names confused when we were recruiting Cam, so I just started calling him that kid from Bend to make my life easier. No offense to Cam. Mattingly will be graduated by 2018. Mariota will be at his 3rd position or so, and all those dudes combined have a total of 6 catches for the Ducks. I promise, I'll get the depth list down once those dudes actually start making catches and getting playing time.damascusduck wrote:Well, for starters, you forgot Breeland and didn't know Cam McCormicks name. So basically in 2018 we'll have Falo--if we land him--and Breeland and Cam and maybe Mariota. As of now, that's 6 catches combined. I'm not making an argument for Hurd, but he'd probably be the #2 TE in 2018. I really like Breeland and Cam, from what I've seen/heard of them, but I always say potential don't mean squat until we see it consistently on game day. Hurd passes that test.

I meant to say, if tag though we needed more TEs, he would have taken a body. But we weren't really recruiting anyone except Falo

Love your desire for JH but there's more to tight end then pure athleticism. Blocking, route running are essential components along with great hands and concentration in traffic. Breeland and Cam will be very good. He COULD be an excellent pickup but he could also be a bust. We would also only have him for 1 year(2018) if we get Falo, he's not a necessity. We don't get Falo than this could be interesting!ifuwant2 wrote:You'll have to forgive my lack of precision.
