While I think it's possible for Oregon to recruit really well and get the top players I don't think we'll ever be a team that finishes the way USC does. Too many guys that play around to the last minute have their families in their ear telling them to stay home. Sure, we'll get a few last minute flips like DAT, but I highly doubt we ever have a signing day like USC.Phenom wrote:the last recruiting weekend was kind of a bust.

Oregon is going to lost out on a lot of these battles because of what you stated. USC is back to full strength and it'll likely be them leading the conference with everyone fighting for 2nd. Anyone who thought Oregon would be returning to CK-level winning is going to have to accept that won't be the case.duck541 wrote:While I think it's possible for Oregon to recruit really well and get the top players I don't think we'll ever be a team that finishes the way USC does. Re: Signing Day Thread (Wednesday February 1st)
It was a bust for some because even though it was a bunch of guys that were long shots, supposed "inside" sources claimed the Ducks were getting a few of them and that set the expectation to be higher than it should have been. So late in the game considering all the coaches had going against them trying to flip guys from USC is a huge challenge so missing on those guys is not a bust in my opinion. The only disappointment for me is Artis picking Baylor though I had no expectations for him, Falo or any other guy. The sky is not falling. Coach T and the Ducks will be fine.Phenom wrote:the last recruiting weekend was kind of a bust.

Just look at UW. They just went to the playoffs, are in a talent rich area, and finished below the Ducks on 2 of the 3 recruiting service team rankings.

Scout and Rivals both had Oregon slightly ahead of UW with 247Sports putting them a couple spots ahead of the Ducks.Juice wrote:lemme guess 1 of the 3 is scout.. loldthomas=ddixon wrote:Just look at UW. Usually the rankings are as much based on how many recruits as how good they are. So Oregon will likely be a tad overrated, having the 20 slot receiver/running backs from Florida that signed.
