Well for some evidence Tom Herman was hired before Taggart and has ended having a worse class than Oregon... They have the 33rd best class on Rivals.. Your Texas... a recruiting hotbed with tradition. How do you screw up that?duckfan22 wrote:so two months to put a staff together then scramble to get kids to visit, no way was there enough time.Pontius wrote:greenyellow wrote:Unless there's some surprise guys, Lenoir is the only one left. Oregon just ran out of time to close on some guys. Still a good class that Taggart helped to salvage.
I don't think time is the issue. I think there was enough time for him to sell players. He just didn't close.
Lets see what happens with a year to build a bond with recruits. Not sure there is a staff out that could
have done better...

Not a bad class for having, what, 50 days. Put a winning/competitive product on the field will help a lot. Its better than last years and done in a very short amount of time. For now I'm going to trust these guys to figure it out. This next year is our litmus test.

Many of those days were in the dead period too.DTrefUgee wrote:Not a bad class for having, what, 50 days. Put a winning/competitive product on the field will help a lot. Because Texas' class is only 18, that's why it's ranked so low. Texas would be tied with us if they kept the exact same star-average and had 24 players. We're exactly tied with Texas in terms of talent.

Great then. I mean, imagine if the roles were reversed and we were in Austin and them in Eugene.5$ wrote:Because Texas' class is only 18, that's why it's ranked so low. I believe that of the 50-60 days Taggart had at Oregon, he only had about 17 days that were fully open, many of which they were short-handed as a staff. That is what makes the class so remarkable.Phenom wrote:Many of those days were in the dead period too.DTrefUgee wrote:Not a bad class for having, what, 50 days. No dout! Give the man credit where it's due. That comment about Taggart not closing...c'mon. Taggart and crew did an amazing job with time they had.

Does anyone know what happened with Lang? He visited SC, Colorado and us...if they couldn't get him into SC is it possible that we could still end up with him?

That's odd...they have it listed on 247 that he visited us on the 13th. Not sure how updated those are though...was just curious as to his status.Phenom wrote:I don't think he visited us.ttrag2418 wrote:Does anyone know what happened with Lang? 247 hasn't updated their lists completely so don't believe everything you read over there. The only other known visit he made was to CU. If he'd made it to Eugene, it wouldn't have stayed silent, considering all the other guys they had visiting that weekend.ttrag2418 wrote:That's odd...they have it listed on 247 that he visited us on the 13th. I have never seen anything that confirmed Lang came. If he did, nobody seems to know about it. My guess is no.
Gotta give USC credit, as much as I hate to. They really cleaned up.

Yep. However, in years past, those guys wouldn't even trip. This year, they at least contemplated us....damascusduck wrote:Oregon may have went hard after a few of the guys late, but only Falo was a real miss. The others were a Hail Mary at best. Agree?greenyellow wrote:They must have meant a meltdown for Oregon fans. DT is just unreadable with how negative it is due to all the misses. SC absolutely cleaned everyone's clocks in the final weeks, especially Oregon since they went hard after a lot of long-shots.ttrag2418 wrote:Took them both...guessing G Johnson is next to SC. So much for the dude calling 72 hours to meltdown for them.duckfan22 wrote:i wonder how many usc will take. Carr and Lewis are not listed as signed nor on the list. ok im hoping.

Apparently.scoducks wrote:Oregon doesn't have insiders...Phenom wrote:USC says that Lang won't qualify and that's why they dropped them. I would be wary of their info a year ago. But no, their insiders >>>>>> ours.
