5 weeks til season starts
And a little over 3 weeks til preseason starts. Expectations should be higher than last season, and I really think the additions of Armstead and Wilson will have big time impacts on this team. We'll finally have a PG to run this team, and I think Wilson will be a special all around player.

I think the ducks will be pretty good this year, and I expect them to make the NCAA tournament. Yes it would be a huge turnaround from last season, but they have a ton of talent, have experience, have what appears to be an easy non conference schedule and had lot of top players from other pac-10 teams graduating or entering the draft after last season.

As long as the new Associate Head Coach does most of the coaching, I think this team has a great chance to be in the upper half of the Pac 10 this year. If we continue the little screen at the top so Porter can chuck up 3's all game, we will not be a good team. Runs some plays for goodness sakes! Either Dunigan or Crittle needs to touch the ball EVERY play. You cannot not use the talent we have down low.

Having a year of experience, addition of a couple of talented players, easy non-conference schedule, the appearance of the PAC-10 not being as strong as it has been the last few years and a great associate coach. Everything adds up to the Ducks have a good season, I would expect a tournament appearance!

Don't forget the Beavers are improved, which should help Oregon. The past few years a pathetic OSU squad allowed league opponents a week of practice preparing only for the Ducks.gofightingducks wrote:Having a year of experience, addition of a couple of talented players, easy non-conference schedule, the appearance of the PAC-10 not being as strong as it has been the last few years and a great associate coach. I do agree that this team with be much improved from last season, but I still have several concerns. I just think there are too many question marks right now for this to be a tourney team. I expect Oregon to win 9 to 10 OOC games with the soft schedule, then win 7 or 8 Pac 10 games. IMO, 16 to 18 total wins total with an NIT bid is realistic. Even with decent talent, Oregon is still very young. In addition, Oregon has typically struggled with first year PGs. In fact, other than Wright, I don't think our PG transfers have worked our too well in the past. Both Love and Smith were 3 star transfers that immediately come to mind. Even All American PGs Brooks and to some extent Ridnour had tough first seasons under EK. Brooks obviously because he broke his hand.
I think Oregon's success this season will be based on how they choose to play. If Oregon can slow the tempo and pound inside with Crittle and Dunnigan and play good defense, I think they have a shot at finishing 5th in the Pac 10 behind UCLA, Arizona, Washington, and Cal. This may be where Dunlap can help us. However, if Oregon tries to run and gun with a first year PG, it might be ugly again.

I'm so excited to see Jamil play. I hope he can be one of those team changers.

No wonder I couldn't find it. I didn't even think to look on Facebook.
