Jayson Tatum B- A- C- B+ C A
One of the top prospects last year and continue to improve. Amazing outside shooter. This past season at Duke, he led the NCAA in 3PT%. Established himself as one of the premier defenders in college. Will need to work in the weightroom. Solid inside game. Will need to work on his handles. Great potential
Rodions Kurucs C- A- C- C C- A
Great size and length for a wing. Versatile player, who has been used by his coaches in both forward positions and even as a shooting guard. Possesses an above average first step that helps him blow by opponents. Deadly from outside. Great potential
OG Anunoby C C- C B C- A
Anunoby has rare physical attributes including a reported 7-6 wingspan to go along with really good strength. He's got good quickness and is a powerful, rock solid athlete. Great defense. Could be a lockdown defender in the future. Good potential.
Malik Pope C B- C+ B- C B
Solid finisher around the basket. Excels at scoring on the move. Adequate shooter from all over the floor. Good ball handler for a big man. Good defensive player. Good athlete. Solid potential
Yante Maten B- C- C B C+ C
Maten also had an impressive 2016-17 campaign for the Bulldogs, averaging 19.2 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. The 6'8" forward also teased at an expansion to his game, shooting 8-of-13 from three-point range over his last 11 games. Ready now with limited potential.
Kelan Martin C B- C- C C- B
Best jump shooter in this draft. Athletically he is average but is very good at positioning for block shots. Passing is limited but is composed when handling it. Very good at stealing but his positioning in a team defense is lacking. Average potential.
Jaylen Johnson C C+ C- C+ C- A
He has the tools and height but can never put it all together. Scouts love his potential but chatter outside the court are affecting his game. Should have stayed at UL for another season but he does have a nice jump shot, man on man defender and scoring ability inside and out. Whether he can put it all together is another question in of itself.
