Markelle Fultz B- B C+ C+ C- A
Definitely one of the top prospects in a weaker draft than past years. Was a candidate to be number one pick last year but felt the decision to prove he was a competitor made him decide to stay in school. An all around scorer during his years at Washington. Excels in a fast pace offense. Great passer who can defend the perimeter. His lone weakness is his below average handles but give him a year or two and you will be fine. Will need to continue to develop over time. Very hard worker. Great potential.

De'Aaron Fox C+ C+ C+ C+ D+ A
At Kentucky, he was considered as one of the top players in college. More of a pure point guard. Will need continue to develop outside shooting, passing, handles and defense. Overall, great talent. Scout feel he is too small to compete at a higher level but some GM's feel he is the fastest and most explosive point guard in the draft. Great potential

Frank Ntilikina C B- C+ C+ C- A
A true point guard with a pass first mentality. He can control the pace of the game nicely. Excellent passer with great court vision who will need a season or two for his handles to be very good. He is always looking to find the open teammate. He can pass on the move and also while penetrating. Excels on the open court and loves to run the break. Possesses an explosive first step. Great potential

Frank Jackson C B- B- C+ D B
Jackson's ability to score the basketball is one of his biggest strengths. He shot 40% from three point range this season, was a reliable mid-range shooter and was an above average finisher at the rim. Very good at picking a pass out but is known to turn it over. Solid potential

Jawun Evans C- C+ B C+ D- B
Could be a potential steal pick if he continues to develop. Great passer and ball handler. Due to his size, scouts feel he will have trouble inside the paint. Overall good potential

Nigel Williams-Goss C- C B+ C+ C- B
A floor general who can pick a pass and someone you can trust on the ball. Very good defender out on the perimeter and attacks the glass offensively. Not much of a scorer but can hit his free throws. Above average potential.

Joel Berry C- C+ B- A- D+ C
One of the best perimeter and man on man defenders in this draft. His handling is top notch but sometimes struggles with a final pass. Active hands on defense is a capable of hitting an outside shot. Not much growth but can step in and play defense right away.

Probably the single most important rating on PGs is their handling. Not having them for all of them is fine, in fact some mystery is part of the fun of writing this. The difference between an all star and a bench player that cannot break through is the handling since the PGs handling stat is that important. It was simply a suggestion as I was reminded of this back when I was putting together the profiles by other experienced players here and seemed a fair suggestion a this stage.

yeah Zyme is right, Handling is something pretty easily scoutable, you can fudge the notes one way or another by utilizing certain phrasing, but from a scouting standpoint, it tends to be pretty obvious if a guy is careless with the basketball. Since we essentially rely on one scout, and dont get to dig on our own, its pretty important to have something regarding that in the PG notes, even if its a mention that intentionally leaves it vague, just to know what you are getting yourself into. The Handles portion of the "Handles" rating is actually pretty minimal, what you see in the handles rating is probably 70% passing, 20% handles, 10% quickness. This means we cant get a good read based purely off of shown handles ratings.

Its not about being spoon fed, asking for a bit of info regarding a point guards handles is asking for a key piece of information that needs to be discussed. Handles literally make or break a PG, In fact, its probably the single most important rating for a point guard, specifically in regards to is it BAD. Ehh or good isnt important, but bad handles are a huge problem for potential PGs.

Drafting should not be a crap shoot, especially towards the top, and there should be enough information to make a good decision, the game includes plenty of randomness in whether players actually develop using the potential system. If you leave out handles, not only do you need to hope the player develops, but you also need to hope that the handles were ok, not terrible, because a PG with terrible handles is only useful for tanking.
