Pretty confident he'll be a Duck, but he's gonna stretch it out (his recruiting process). Not a problem, kid only gets to do this once.

He's supposed to make his commitment announcement at the US Army All-American Game on January 6th after taking all his official visits but I have a feeling he'll likely do a silent commitment to reserve his spot due to how fast the class is filling up.

Thx. Glad UW not part of this cut, though I suspect those of you following his recruitment closely already knew that.

Nebraska offered, and he's been retweeting them. Is this standard for him? Their board also seems to think they have a legit shot.

I can't imagine him leaving home!

They probably think they have a legit shot because we are filling up at WR and he is waiting to take all of his visits before he decides.

Honest question for those who follow recruiting (I've never seen any tape on him, so I have no idea if the hype is real):

Do we want Chase Cota because he's an instate kid who also happens to be a legacy and a 4* talent?

OR

Do we want Chase Cota because he truly would be one of the top five-six options we could sign at the position on signing day?

I only ask because it seems like the class, and the position, is filling up quickly and, from all reports, he wants to take his visits and enjoy the process. So, do we wait and hold a spot and risk the chance of turning away a better player from another state or do we fill up the position with the best talent available regardless of home base?

I haven't watched any film of his(I only watch video of commits after signing day, makes recruiting much more palatable) but he is a consensus top 100 recruit on all of the sites. I think if he were from say Nevada and not a legacy that we would be equally as interested. Just ratings wise, he is above: Tre'Shaun Harrison, Warren Thompson and Miles Battle.

Yes. We want this guy. Speed and great hands. Great measurables as well!

I guess in the long run it would be better for us if he didn't stay in conference if he weren't to commit here

He is good no doubt, I would rather take Warren Thompson if it comes down to it.

I'd take Cota over any of our commits/targets not named Devon Williams.
