Re: Recent recruit follows by coaches
There was talk that Brian Snead may be targeted by the new staff to see if they can flip him. I believe the only other school he wanted to visit was Oregon. Miller, Thompson, Lamar are all Seffner Armwood kids - it could get interesting. I don’t think it’s really substantial but eh, you never know.

Felix was an Oregon lean before Taggart got here. He loves DAT.GoDuckYourself wrote:Any of these guys running backs? I know we are getting Elliott but with only TBJ, Cyrus and Felix back seems pretty thin rb corps to me. Also wouldn’t shock me if Felix transfers with Tag and Pimp gone.
You also forgot Verdell and Dye.

RB is not much of a problem.GoDuckYourself wrote:Any of these guys running backs? I know we are getting Elliott but with only TBJ, Cyrus and Felix back seems pretty thin rb corps to me. Also wouldn’t shock me if Felix transfers with Tag and Pimp gone.
WR and TE are serious issues that could effect the team for a few years.
I haven't heard of backup offers going out there yet, mostly DL and LB backup plans, so I'm not worried until those start to leak out

Cristobal isn't as concerned with WR. We have gone from upwards of 8 to possibly just 4-5 WR's being taken. Also, QB is a position Cristobal is targetting but it won't be a big name since it's hard to bring in multiple big names at QB. This is all per Jhop.Duckenstein wrote:RB is not much of a problem.GoDuckYourself wrote:Any of these guys running backs? DE Jaevon Becton, one of Big Joe's recent follows, just got an Oregon offer tonight. He's a former UGA commit so he's a decent player. It'll be interesting to see if Oregon can pull him out of VA.

Yeah I get that WT wanted 8 and CMC is thinking more like 4-5 at WR but we have 0CanadianQuackers wrote:Cristobal isn't as concerned with WR. I've heard that Manoa might not take his mission after all...

Clearly was pushed out based on their current class and his star ranking.Duckenstein wrote:He was pushed out of uga FYI, raw project type I read though I haven't seen filmgreenyellow wrote:DE Jaevon Becton, one of Big Joe's recent follows, just got an Oregon offer tonight. Cristobal started following WR Cincir Evans (who goes to the same HS as Dillon Mitchell), WR Jalen Smith (who's committed to Navy), and RB Brian Snead (who's another guy from Armwood HS in FL and committed to Ohio State.) Based on the amount of low-rated WRs they're checking out, seems they're trying to find as many backup plans as possible, hoping that someone is a major diamond in the rough.

Recent recruit follows by coaches
They’re not all backup plans, Cristobal and the staff are moving away from looking at stars alone and towards actual talent evaluations. They’re still going to go after highly rated guys, but they are open to looking at any player as opposed to just high rated guys. Willie was all about the stars by the sounds of it, regardless of what the film and scouting reports turned up. That’s why the Diallo decommit wasn’t a big deal, the guys that weren’t the HC aka Cristobal and Leavitt didn’t really like him.greenyellow wrote:Cristobal started following WR Cincir Evans (who goes to the same HS as Dillon Mitchell), WR Jalen Smith (who's committed to Navy), and RB Brian Snead (who's another guy from Armwood HS in FL and committed to Ohio State.) Your post doesn't make sense. Diallo was a 3star. In no way does his decommit back up your justification.CanadianQuackers wrote:They’re not all backup plans, Cristobal and the staff are moving away from looking at stars alone and towards actual talent evaluations. Re: Recent recruit follows by coaches
We replaced Diallo with two lesser rated players at the same position who we were targetting recently. Diallo wasn't a big deal because while he's more touted than the other two DL we signed today, he's not necessarily wanted more by the coaches who weren't Willie Taggart. Diallo was a 3-star player but also a JUCO which are rated differently in comparison to prep school players.jimmy12 wrote:Your post doesn't make sense. Diallo was a 3star. Re: Recent recruit follows by coaches
That list of WR back-up prospects is less than appetizing. Hopefully that means some of these guys are filler because we're getting 2-3 guys on the A-list.
It has never been a problem getting at least high three-star WRs to Oregon. It's difficult to comprehend that just a month ago we were debating whether we had room for Chase Cota or Marquez Ezzard and now we're combing through guys with no P-5 offers.
Hoping we're able to snag at least two of the following: TreShaun Harrison, Devon Williams, Jalen Hall, Miles Battle, Mike Ezeike, Braden Lenzy, Isaah Crocker.
