If it's true that the hardship waiver will allow him to play without sitting out a year then this is even better news.
Lose Malcolm Lamar, replace him with a higher rated prospect who has an extra year of development. At a major position of need. I was skeptical Johnson would come here, but this is great news.

No kidding! Like almost every D1 program in the country.

Imagine getting a guy like this because of our geographical advantage. Amazing.

Apparently we have Coach Heyward to thank for this. He was originally thinking of taking visits before Heyward closed the deal.

I think CMC is smart. He's putting together a monster staff.
It sounds like the staff is confident in getting Ezeike, Battle and Webb back.
Also sounds like they're confident on Sewell, Williams, and Hall

Re: Ducks land transfer DJ Johnson from Miami
Reading a Miami board, it sounds like they have convinced themselves that Johnson is leaving because he wasn't an immediate success there. One of their recruiting 'experts' is saying the coaches consider him a miss talent-wise. They also don't believe the sleep-apnea thing, since his transfer is still over 7 hours away by car.
It will be interesting to see if he gets the waiver. That would probably dispel some of the doubters.

How can they be so confident in the dead period?Duckenstein wrote:I think CMC is smart. He's putting together a monster staff.
