And Taggart probably got Harrison to FSU before FWT even quit at Oregon, so I'd hesitate to call that a poach.Duckenstein wrote:Nah. Agreed. I think fwt told Harrison he was leaving before he told the schoolGroundswell wrote:And Taggart probably got Harrison to FSU before FWT even quit at Oregon, so I'd hesitate to call that a poach.Duckenstein wrote:Nah. Leavitt seems to really like this kid. Wonder if he’ll be a linebacker? Inside or outside? Him and Jackson are both gonna be great ducks imo

Re: 2018 Oregon Commit List
So here is the Leavitt tweet breakdown, so far as I can put it together. JL literally thinks A. Johnson is 5 star caliber. He made him a priority from the get go. We were one of his first offers. JL put a ton of time/energy into him. Then early signing day came around, and it looked like A. Johnson might not sign. JL went to Georgia, fearing the local school, FSU, would snatch him, and convinced him to sign the papers. It was very late, maybe even after Early Signing Day. JL got excited and tweeted out the great news. Then the kid/family expressed that he wanted to have a ceremony at his school and a family party/to-do, so JL tweeted out that we'd all have to wait until Nation Signing Day. JL closed the deal and was excited. He truly thinks this kid is special. The kid wanted to have a signing day party and surprise. End of story.

That's nicer than the story I had in my head. In my version, he missed on the guy that he was all fired up about, so he made it about Johnson instead.Groundswell wrote:So here is the Leavitt tweet breakdown, so far as I can put it together. That's what Andrew Nemec thought. If I told you where I got most of the pieces to this story, you'd just get mad at me and tell me not to mention the name, but shy of being there when JL tweeted, this is fairly close to how it went down.Phalanx wrote:That's nicer than the story I had in my head. I love Johnson's game, I think he's going to be a rush OLB like Justin Hollins. You need a physical freak for that role; someone who can punch a LT/RT block away or run by them, all while being able to react to the run or drop back in coverage.
If Leavitt is that high on him then it makes me feel even better about it.
