Masoli, then Thomas, then Smith. Toss Bennett in the mix too.

I like it. Let's hope Smith gets those grades up so we can send him an offer.

3,470 yards 36 tds 7 ints as a sophomore for Smith.
1,650 17 tds 14 ints 50% completion rate as a sophomore for Bennett.

Bennett offers from: New Mexico State, Pittsburgh, Utah State, and Wyoming.
Smith offers from: Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio, Tennessee, Louisville, and Kentucky. (And hes had that knee injury)

Just saying. I think Bennett is a tremendous player, but Smith's resume is scary good for a guy battling a big injury. Not to mention, he is rated a top 150 recruit by espn and a 4 star by scout.

To Bennett's defense, he has 63% completion rate this year and 20 tds to 4 ints (200 passing yards a game so far).

stars or stats?

And I agree, stars don't mean everything. But as a fan, the best way to evaluate talent is to look at all things: Offers, stats, stars, competition, height/weight, speed, etc..

I just think Smith is looking like the better player based on all those. Bennett did commit pretty earlier though, so that could be why 2 of his 4 offers were from New Mexico State and Utah State.

Nateduck told us about Smith on sunday.

It is. For only $5 a mo. You could have got this info a long time ago on DT. :D

No, I'm talking about when nateduck told us about Williams the day after the visit on here. Not DT

If Bennett was playing in Kentucky he would be putting up similar stats as Smith. How can you just look at stats and say one kid is better than the other when you don't take into account the type of competion they are playing against? That would be like saying some QB at Western Oregon should win the Heisman because he is putting up huge numbers.

While Kentucky may not produce as much talent as California, there is still some good teams and talent there.
