Visitors for Dec. 14th
It's looking like the majority of Oregon's current commits are going to be visiting this weekend. It's also been confirmed by 247 Sports that recent VT decommit Brandon Dorlus will be visiting, likely alongside his HS teammate and current Duck commit Ge'mon Eaford. I'd imagine this would also be the weekend that many of the recently offered JC use to visit if they're determined to sign in the early period.
Confirmed/potential visitors:
OT commit Jonah Tauanu'u
DT commit Keyon Ware-Hudson
LB commit Mase Funa
WR commit JR Waters
LB commit Ge'mon Eaford
RB commit Sean Dollars
QB commit Cale Millen
WR commit Mycah Pittman
TE commit Patrick Herbert
DT commit Sua'ava Poti
CB commit Mykael Wright
DE Brandon Dorlus
LB Ralen Goforth
JC DE Sam Okuayinonu
DT Ishmael Sopsher
JC S Quandre Mosely
S Jeremiah Criddell
K Camden Lewis
JC DE Datona Jackson
JC LB Dru Mathis

FWIW, Eaford has been very positive about Oregon, could be a help with Dorius.greenyellow wrote:It's looking like the majority of Oregon's current commits are going to be visiting this weekend. Re: Visitors for Dec. 14th
Biggins released some updates for a couple of Oregon's remaining LB targets:
-Daniel Heimuli, was supposed to this visit this weekend, has tentatively scheduled his visit for next weekend due having a playoff game tonight. If his team wins, they'll have to play again for the state title next weekend, meaning he may not get in a visit before early signing day and likely ruining any chance at Oregon getting him.
-Ralen Goforth is visiting Oregon on the 14th after taking a visit to USC this weekend. He expects to sign in the December early period.

Re: Visitors for Dec. 14th
So it looks like Heimuli's team won and will be playing for a state title next weekend. His team's playoff run has really thrown off his visit schedule as he was originally scheduled to visit Oregon this weekend and then UW next weekend. Now looking like his only chance to see either one will be a mid-week visit, otherwise the only schools he'll have seen officially or unofficially are Utah (OV), UCLA (UV), and Alabama (UV.)

Typically those in larger states. Texas won't have their championship games until the weekend of the 22nd and in some years they've played on Christmas weekends.GrantDuck wrote:What kind of high school teams play into mid-december?!

If championship games are mid to late December how many games do those kids end up playing in a season?

In the larger school brackets in Texas, teams that reach the state championship game will have played 15 games in a season. In states like Florida, Ohio, and California, it's around 14 games for a full championship run.maxduck wrote:If championship games are mid to late December how many games do those kids end up playing in a season?

Re: Visitors for Dec. 14th
Washington is 14 games, and I was fortunate enough to attend every one of Union's 14 wins including the championship at the Tacoma Dome. Don't expect Union to go away...JV and Freshmen went undefeated as well. 32-0 as a program this year.greenyellow wrote:In the larger school brackets in Texas, teams that reach the state championship game will have played 15 games in a season.
