Mops wrote:When Oregon offers a kid from Oregon we do fairly well. I dont have stats past 2002 but Rivals.com starts in the year 2002 showing offers and the such.

2002 the Ducks offered Joe Newton and Shawn Perkins. Perkins signed with the Ducks and Newton with the Beavs.

2003 the Ducks offered Roy Schuening, Keith Roberson, and Dante Rosario. Rosario went to Oregon and Schuening and Roberson to OSU with only Schuening getting into school.

2004 the Ducks offered Eric Ainge, TR Smith, Cole Linehan, and David Faateete. Everyone but Ainge signed with Oregon as Ainge went to Tennessee. TR Smith didnt get into school.

2005 the Ducks offered Matt Bramow and signed him.

2006 the Ducks offered Cody Kempt, Bo Thran, Maui Nomani, Gabe Miller, and Kyle Loomis. Kempt and Thran committed to Oregon and the other 3 went to OSU.

2007 The Ducks offered Brandon Jackson, Myles Wade, Aaron Pflugrad, and John Laidet. Everyone but Jackson signed with Oregon as he went to Kentucky.

2008 the Ducks offered Ethan Johnson and Scott Grady. Grady came to Oregon and Johnson to Notre Dame.

2009 the Ducks offered Charles Siddoway and Taylor Hart. Siddoway went to Cal and Hart came to Oregon.

2010 the Ducks have offered so far Curtis White and Owamagbe Odighizuwa. White has already committed to Oregon and OO is interested in Oregon.

Oregon has gotten 14 commits out of 24 commitments and 1 still going on with OO. So Oregon has been able to land a tad more than half the of who they offer.
Wow, alright, proved me wrong

My sons high school team plays in the same league as DD . He said he's easily the best kid they faced all year. Centennial has a big kid too that will get some D1 looks, probably on the O line. His name is David Veiru (spelling?)

I will also add that it wouldn't suprise me a bit if OWA was the states #1 recruit when the rating come out next year...yes, even higher than Curtis White.

I went to david douglas five years ago and have seen him play. He is a very good player and would be a great pickup for our ducks.

All I could say when saw this topic was like... what did you say. I would almost love to hear these commentators say this persons name. I think we should make it O squared for the fans if he signs with Oregon. That way we dont trip over our own tongues trying to pronounce his name. I am guessing he might be like Kenyan or something given name. Any ideas on origin. I would love to see Oregon get the guy since is a prep star in state.

Just how many syllables are in this guys name :) I want to hear these sports reporters pronounce his name. They had a hard enough time with Masoli... imagine the time they have with this one. I vote for O squared. or maybe just Owa for short. Wonder if they call him just that in high school.
