Does it bother anyone that what makes or breaks a QB, especially in our offense, is decision making and this guy can't seem to make one? Every school that he visits or that does an in-home with him the leader seems to change. Keep in mind that this is a kid who's already committed twice (yes, I realize one de-commit wasn't his fault), and that has been close to making a decision for seveal weeks.
I think Boyd will be great, and still believe that he'll be a duck, but his decision-making ability has me a bit worried

Fortunately off the field decisons and on the field one's are very different. I recognize your sarcasm.
I will say this: a lot of these kids have more than just college education on the line. The right/wrong decision for upper caliber players will heavily affect their potential pro career's and revenue stream. Big decision and requires thorough time and reasearch.
I respect the kid that looks at all the options thoroughly versus the one that says I just want to stay close to home or it's USC if they want me I'll go there even though they already have 6 schollied RB's already.

Heavy sarcasam...
All I've read on this borad for the last few days is doom and gloom, so I thought maybe I could add some as well!

I'd love to see Boyd in this class but that's mostly just because I think he would help sway Brown.
Darron Thomas is the real deal. Tajh could very well end up sitting until his RS Senior year before ever being the starter at Oregon. Darron is that good. Having two great QB's is a problem that I would love to have but the reason that we're only recruiting a few elite QB's is that we don't really need or want one in this class. If we can strike gold then we will take it but if not we will wait for next year.
Bryce is a much more important recruit. After Blount leaves we won't have any real power backs on the team.

The more this drags on the more I am inclined will not sign with Oregon. It reminds me more and more of the Terelle Pryor saga last year. The omly differnce is that Boyd did visit Oregon. I know someday we will land one of these guys although it does not look like will happen this year due to the distance. I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping that I am wrong. I agree that Darron Thomas will do a heck of a job when he becomes our quarterback. Hopefully can redshirt him this year.

i'm with Jhop on this. I refer back to Boyd's comments from a few days ago, him refering to the ducks as a chance to play for a Heisman. Those were strong words coming straight from Boyd, not a reporters take of what he thinks Boyd is thinking.

We better redshirt Thomas this year, it would be incredibly stupid not to when the intent was there last year. We have capable guys behind Masoli, and if a emergency arrived, then we could pull it once again. But, Masoli, Roper as 1-2, and Coast as a wildcard, we are in good shape to get some separation for Thomas from them.

Here is another tidbit as to why some are confident in Boyd being a Duck. On EDUCK there is a new contributor to the Oregon board who has been spot on so far and seems to know the ins and outs of what CK has been up to. Come to find out he played under CK at UNH. He knows CK personally. He is currently saying that Oregon is probably at 75% for Boyd.

75% isn't good enough. Not a done deal until I see him pick up the Oregon hat.

I prefer a LOI too, but if we all sat around and just waited for those, this board would suck and so would the others except on 2/4 and a few days after that.

Where is that thread where people guessed what day and time Boyd will sign? Looks like whoever said the 28th is looking good.

I'm confident that Boyd will be a Duck. Could I be wrong? Of course.... but I doubt it.

Just commenting on preferences... I want as many commits now as we can get, especially from a guy of Boyd's stature!jhopduck wrote:I prefer a LOI too, but if we all sat around and just waited for those, this board would suck and so would the others except on 2/4 and a few days after that.
