Wonder how close he is to Savell Smalls and if it helps us at all?

They play on the same 7v7 team and use the same trainer so getting Latu can't hurt. Does sound as if Latu could really see his recruiting blowup this spring and summer so it'll be interesting to see if Oregon can hang onto him.

I don't understand the line of reasoning here? He already has offers from a bunch of Pac 12 schools and Tennessee, yet jumped all over the UO offer.

This is one of those recruits where the ratings don't make any sense. There's no way there are 900 guys better than him in this class. He's big enough to play LB but just effortlessly runs away from everyone else on the field.

Over on JHop’s site, someone said that grades were/are an issue. He also has a younger brother, Will, who is equally talented.

This kid is exactly what I pictured when Coach Andy started talking about the STUD LB. Good length and crazy athleticism. I love this commit.

Very underrated. Good chance he ends up being a low 4 star by the time signing day is here. Welcome Latu!!

Washington fans have come with the "his grades are bad so if we ever offer Latu he will wind up at Washington' story.

I just watched his junior year highlights (https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11888652/5 ... 08b8cb0dbc) and Latu is way more athletic than I imagined for a 6'4" 225 kid. Fast and physical. He's definitely going to be moving up the rankings, let's hope we can hang on to him.

Reminds me a bit of Dante Rosario in HS playing defense.
