Re: Tannehill replaces Mariota
Another win for Tannehill, two games Tennessee probably would’ve won if Marcus had played. But this was a brilliantly dirtbag move from Vrabel and he knew exactly what he was doing. With the Oline getting healthy and playing better, by playing Tannehill now against crap competition he’s deluding the dumb Titans fans to believe Marcus was the problem, not the fact that he’s a piss poor coach with a piss poor OC and piss poor GM. He literally threw Marcus under the bus 100% and showed he never cared about him at all. As the Titans start to have tougher games I’m confident Tannehill will start to suck again and Marcus will find another place to start next season. The only brilliant aspect of Vrabel’s coaching is his ability to throw others under the bus.

Don’t forget Marcus’ rookie contract expires after this year and if they have to resign him they will significantly negatively impact their cap room. Probably the root cause for benching him.OregonFan4Life wrote:Another win for Tannehill, two games Tennessee probably would’ve won if Marcus had played. Tannehill tearing it up vs. Carolina in the first half, 100 yards passing, 2 sacks, 1 pick, no TD's. Panthers up 17-0 at the half. I guess Vrabel will have to find his 'spark' somewhere else?

Maybe Tannehill is a better fit?

They won this one without any help from the Zebras. No doubt that the Titans are playing better w/o Marcus. But to say it is all because of that probably isn't accurate. The OL has improved greatly. Marcus was filled with anxiety because of all the pressure he was facing. Tannehill looked calm during the game winning drive; and not only the OL, but all the players, including the defense, were playing a lot better. The QB change might have lit a spark, but I don't think it's because Tannehill is that much better than was MarcusnogerO wrote:Maybe Tannehill is a better fit?

Tannehill makes quicker decisions. He still took several hits that a good line would've prevented, but he runs through his reads faster than Mariota did. A lot of that could be Mariota panicking due to years of poor o-line play. A change of scenery with some consistency would go a long ways for him, but clearly Tannehill is the better fit in TennesseeMerganzer wrote:They won this one without any help from the Zebras. If Mariota could run without getting hurt, he'd be amazing.

Re: Tannehill replaces Mariota
It only proves the problem; the staff refused to tailor the offense to MM’s skill set and instead tried to force him into theirs. Which is perfectly suited for an average NFL QB like Tannehill, and why they’ll always be an average NFL offense.
Look at Baltimore and what they’ve done with LJ. That’s what a great staff does and the result is a dynamic offense. Insert him into the Titan’s offense and he’d look even worse than MM bee cause he has a unique skill set. Just like MM.

Bottom line, Tannehill is doing better, this does not help Marcus’s free agent status. No matter why Tannehell is getting wins.squintsdd wrote:Tannehill makes quicker decisions.
