New Commit???
Scout seems to be reporting that we got a verbal from a Long Snapper. Any one heard of this guy. Not that I'm not glad to have him, but last time we tried a specialist like this it didn't turn out that well if memory serves.

Re: New Commit???
yeah , he committed. A schollie for a long snapper. Cone on , how difficult is it to teach your starting center to hike the ball.
Wasted schollie.

Re: New Commit???
Interesting considering we have a limited number of scholarships available and still a number of top talent in positions of need on the board.

Since I can't read the Scout story, was he offered a schollie?

"Drew is a phenomenal talent with a huge upside," said Rubio. "This kid is very raw and already a great snapper. I am looking forward to watching him advance through the years."
Man when I have children, I'm raising them all to become long snappers. A free scholarship + potential to play professional sports. That's a big win in my eyes.

Re: New Commit???
If memory serves me, the last 2 long snappers we have had on schollie were busts. Mark Sunga was kicked out of school and then the one we had last year flunked out so we have bad luck with them. I say we need to stop recruiting them for scholarship positions and just give them to walk-ons.

Re: New Commit???
Hmm I don't know what to think. Obviously if the coaches feel he's worthy of a schollie than I guess he is but in a year with limited schollies... a long snapper? Makes you wonder if this class is starting to lose momentum. I guess we'll find out.

Re: New Commit???
Could be a Grayshirt, not "wasting" a schollie. Have to trust the coaches on this one.

Re: New Commit???
I know I've said "trust the coaches" a million times, but... This is stupid. We already have people that can long snap well that can do other things. And it's REALLY not that hard a position to learn. Unless he can do something else, I don't see how this pans out, even in a best-case scenario.

Hopefully Mops or Jhop can make an appearance soon to talk about recruiting. It's been awhile.

Re: New Commit???
At the bottom of the scout profile it says he was not offered a schollie. I dont have a scout or rivals membership so I cant read whether he got an offer or not so I will desperately hold onto the hope that we didn't just offer a long snapper a scholarship.
