Re: BRIAN Jackson committed - 99% sure per scout
Yes Hoover is a big time program, but keep in mind that they really don't turn out many big time prospects. There are a few kids that go D-1 every year and a few more that go D-2. Very solid program that really wins with good coaching, top notch facilities and pure number of kids on the roster more than D-1 prospects at every position.
Think about this: the 2 best players to come out of Hoover in the last decade are Chad Jackson, who was a first round pick by the Pats but has done nothing in the league and John Parker Wilson who was a 3 year starter at Alabama, the first two of which were rebuilding years coming off probation. I'm surrounded by Bama fans and even most of them will admit that JPW was servicable at best...he threw for NINE touchdowns this season as a senior and played almost every snap this year!

So you would rather have Jackson than Leon or Harris?

Here is the difference from scouts posting of Jackson's commitment versus ours: None of the below posts are mine.
spoke to Brian a few minutes ago and he said he committed. He was going to hold off but since some folks he was still available he decided to get the process over.

1st Team All-State...in Alabama...

Pretty impressive.

I for one am very excited about Brian Jackson. From what I can find he was injured when he ran his 40 and is in the 4.5 range. He looks tough to me and I think he will do well in our defense. GO DUCKS!!!!!!!

We are going to have all 3 as long as Harris qualifies. I don't have to choose.duckgrad99 wrote:KingofDucks wrote:FWIW, we offered him quite some time ago. He is not a fall back for Leon or Harris. Go smoke a bowl, drink a scotch, meditate, whatever calms some of you paranoid people out.

KoD, do you have any inside info on Leon, or is that a hunch? Cuz we haven't received any good news at all on that recentlyKingofDucks wrote:We are going to have all 3 as long as Harris qualifies. I can answer that one. He said he's just not gonna commit anywhere, he's just going to sign an LOI on Feb 4th. I don't know why, but he's waiting for February 4th.duckgrad99 wrote:KOD, do you know what Harris is waiting for?

No, I have no inside info on Leon. But I don't see him leaving a top 10 team that will have a starting role for him next season.
