^ Essentially the sonics move back in the draft, but add a mid to late 1st talent in Bryant.

You could view it as pick 16 for picks 20 and 25.

Like I said, you'd be hard pressed to take someone in the 15-25 range who is definitively better than that IMO.

He is not the next Moses or anything but at 2 million salary that is for sure a positive value asset.

He could conceivably be B B B- and getting 15 and 9 next season and making only 2 million.

It also makes a lot of sense in the context of his team building if you know he had a trade for Maxwell on hold. Bryant locks in cheap PF production for several years to offset the Maxwell and English contracts, and Maxwell is a strong rebounding SF which offsets Bryant's bit of weakness there. That 3 gives him some a nice balanced two-way trio going forward.

I think the trade with Maxwell from a value standpoint makes sense, but given the context of https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35384 almost feels like the same thing again. Will be a middling team with two aging stars with 5+ year max contracts. It's better since it's a pick swap, but also lost Tyler relatively and I suspect the Hornets pick won't amount to much.

Yeah, I think this trade isn't that bad, I just personally don't believe in Bryant given he hasn't improved much in two TCs and the jump in the draft from 15 -> 25 seems pretty big. In the late first almost feels like you get stuck with a bad prospect for 4 years, early seconds feel better in that sense.

About Bryant: I think that Bryant still has time to develop at 22 and has been averaging decent numbers on the Blazers. His contract also locks him in for three years so he could be one of the key pieces if he has a good TC for the next few years.

About Maxwell: This deal could put me in cap hell but I think its different from the other trade because Maxwell is a considerable upgrade over Tyler. Also, I’ll still have two (likely late) first rounders to add some young talent in a stacked 1984 draft and did not give up any future first rounders. I think that my team being in purgatory forces me to move to contend or to tank and I did not receive any decent offers for my good players.
