"The Dynamic Trio"

Post by kbmerz »

I was on ESPN.com this morning watching a few videos and catching up to my day to day Duck recruiting blogs. From what I saw today and I just have to get this off my chest: Bryan Bennett, Ethan Grant, and Dontae Williams are going to be " insane ". Period! Lets start with Bennett: tall, 6'3, has strong upper body, athletic, fast, quick, great balance, footwork is awesome. Give this young talent the time with coach Rad and we may have another great QB at Oregon. He can throw the deep ball, run when there is pressure, escape the pocket, throw in the pocket, scramble, all the above must be mentioned because he entertaines it all. This kid will be a leader of the team come down the road. Now lets go to Ethan Grant: Are you Serious? You can barely see this kid, he is so fast! Once he gets the ball he squares his shoulder and hips and he "Explodes" into the secondary, if you miss a tackle on him he is gone. I bet he runs somewhere in the 10.5 range if he ran the 100 or a 4.2 in the 40, he is just remarkable. Very underated and under the radar right now but LaMichael James...Watch out! You will have remarkable competition comming in so get ready. (Thats how good the Oregon Ducks RB's will be, by far TOP of the Nation). Dontae Williams: hmm I really dont know what to think about this kid except he scares me when he has the ball. Something tells me that he wants to score on every touch, he has determination, speed, power, and has great upper body size. I cant wait to see what the Oregon weight room is going to do for the guy, he will be massive and defenders will be scared to hit him because he is going to hit You first. With James, Grant, Williams, in the backfield they will be the "Dynamic Trio"

Wonder if CK will make it open competition next season, or try to use a RS for one or more of the newcomers...

Not that it's rare anymore, but Bryan Bennett's been running the spread/zone read in HS for awhile now.

I was at the Crespi/Notre Dame game, and on one play from around the ND 20, he ran the read so well, that when the RB was flattened, everyone (players, fans) celebrated until they realized Bennett actually had the ball ... in the end zone, untouched.

You are so right, I've had pleasure of watching Bryan play and can't wait to see him handing off to Ethan Grant, or throwing to Curtis White. Bryan's competitive nature is what Duck fans are going to admire for years to come.

The QB battle between DT and Bennett should be interesting. It will be nice though to have 2 very talented guys that could start anywhere!

That's awesome. It was amazing what Chip did with DD and Masoli, who I'm guessing never played using the read. Imagine someone who already knows it!
