Non-Coaching staff changes
A couple changes have been reported by FootballScoop-
Director of Player Personnel Thomas Arends has been let go. Thomas' family is friends with the Fouts family back in Sisters, and he leveraged that relationship into an internship with the football team years ago and has been on staff ever since. Pretty sure he's been around since Chip, and full-time since Helf. He was kind of just a logistics kid for years, but in his most recent position, did a lot of interacting with recruits, especially with identifying and reaching out to walk-ons, and really keeping recruiting efforts organized and compliant.
Director of Player Development, Da'Vell Winters, is being hired away by Andy Avalos. This was Winters' second stint on the Oregon staff. He's from the Midwest and after a short stint on the Helf staff, decided to go back east for a year before ultimately deciding Eugene was his best career and personal move. His most recent position, where he essentially acts as a mentor to the full team of 110 college males, is one he's thrived in. No surprise Avalos wanted to bring him to Boise. It's a position that goes a long way toward building a culture on a staff and keeping guys' heads on straight. He'll be missed.

Re: Non-Coaching staff changes
They're calling it "Chief of Staff." Not a usual industry title, but sounds like he'll have wide ranging oversight in operations.

Re: Non-Coaching staff changes
Oregon is losing assistant director of recruiting Eli Mandel to Boise State. He's now the 4th member of Oregon's recruiting staff to leave this off-season for promotions/new careers.

Re: Non-Coaching staff changes
Looks like former GA Cody Woodiel is returning to the staff in a non-coaching position.

Re: Non-Coaching staff changes
Looks like Oregon is filling both new and open positions in the recruiting and academic staffs. Mahina and Popper got promotions from their previous positions on the staff while Moala has come over from Oregon State.

Re: Non-Coaching staff changes
They must think enough of them to get hired and/or promoted.
