No protections on those Sonics picks??

Just me, but I’d probably only allow this if those have protections

Not terrible but probably could have done better with those 2 picks. Laimberr is no slouch but those may be 2 lotto picks.

Depends on how much of an upgrade Tisdale/Laimbeer is on Maxwell I guess. Season hasn't started yet so would probably look better if this was during the season and Sonics were doing fairly well or even just ok. I wonder if Laimbeer will be enough to make an improvement. Would've though just the 86 pick alone would be enough

Sonics seem like they're flip flopping every week as to if they wanna tank or contend.

Also, since the other thread is locked: what the Nuggs got back for Cheeks was pretty cheeks

Laimbeer is a nice pickup.

Knicks potentially get two shots in the lottery.

I like it for both.

Haha I probably overpaid but I think that Laimbeer could bring immediate impact with his rebounding. I mostly wanted to do this because I did not expect Tisdale to grow so much and wanted to quickly pair him up with someone who can make up for his weaker rebounding rating.

In hindsight the Maxwell trade was unecessary because I struck out on Nance in FA but oh well (Ironically he also went to the Knicks). Tony Mitchell has B inside and B+ defense so he can fill in for Maxwell ig. My trade iq is bonkers right now tho and I probably should ease up on trades but they are so fun to do lol. At least the Freeman Williams trade last season somehow ended up in my favor due to sheer luck but I shouldn’t count on luck being on my side for future trades. At any rate the Tisdale/Laimbeer/English trio probably shouldnt miss the playoffs but then again I lost 60 games last year so I shouldn’t jinx it. I think I just gotta learn how to get better with trades and until then you’ll probably see me overpaying again lmao. Not gonna roll back this trade or anything just wanted to clear some stuff up.

You offered the same except at least with Dickerson I get an up and coming rookie point that looks like he has some potential

I was going to right up against in paying for all these players in the offseason, something had to give. Given I just picked up Nance the Frontcourt was the least painful option.

I actually hadn't offered anything for Cheeks

I just think you could've gotten at least a first and maybe a protected first for Cheeks instead of some doodoo assets.

I don't see how Cheeks gets a 1st on that contract honestly. The reason he only got $5M for 1 year is that the teams that want him are over the cap, so not getting his Bird rights hurts. If he wanted to trade Cheeks for a 1st he needed to gamble on a 3 year deal. Cheeks at 3/12 to 3/15 is worth more than 1/5.

Laimbeer alone is worth 2 firsts (Had elite rebounding around him so numbers are lower than they should be) so that's good with for me value

He is also locked up for another 3 seasons after this one so Sonics could run with him until he is past his prime so that's a good move too (not a rental)

Laimbeer/Tisdale combo looks very nice and with the improvement to the Sonics they would be looking at a mid/teens 1st this upcoming year, they couldnt draft someone the quality of Laimbeer so I see nothing wrong with this trade.

Personally it is a gamble and they could have just waited out another season but the Sonics now have a foundation to build upon in the post for the next 4 seasons.
