As of Thursday, the NCAA has extended the dead period until the end of May. J.T. had intended to make his decision at the end of April after taking visits to alabama and ohio state, but now that the dead period will not end until June 1st at the earliest, it looks like he will be unable to take those visits. You've gotta figure this helps the ducks and the huskies...

The rumor du jour is that JT will now announce sooner than expected and that this bodes well for the good guys.

Surprised the NCAA extended the dead period with vaccines becoming more prevalent and Covid rates dropping. I guess they're playing it ultra safe.

Honestly I can't blame them. Last season was a debacle, and probably shouldn't even count in the record books. They probably want to give a full season a fighting chance this time around.

The longer and more dramatically this all plays out, the more I begin to wonder if he's going to be a bust. It's not exactly scientifically researched, but it frequently seems like the guys with the most dramatic recruitments sort of disappear at the next level.

Terrell Pryor is the only one that really comes to mind. Seems like he was okay in college but I still would have loved to see what Chip could have done with him back in the day.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

I would argue that his recruitment really hasn’t been dramatic. Its not like he’s committed and decomitted multiple times. It’s been a weird year with recruiting and I’m sure he wanted to take all his visits, which is the smart thing to do. I feel like the only people making it dramatic are the fans, everything is quiet from his camp.

Absolutely agree. In fact, apparently is not on social media AND he has given 1 interview. All the smoke is fan driven and not JTTs. To me, it's not really drama. Hoping for visits isn't dramatic, it's smart. just because it doesn't fit in our want of news doesn't make him a D queen.

Yeah, I'll give the benefit of the doubt so far at least. All the scuttle was that JTT wanted to take his visits and see as much as he could to make an informed decision. It really would be incredibly difficult to make a college decision without getting the 'feel' of the campus/area.
