WR Xavier Worthy receives UO CB (Announcement delayed)

Xavier Worthy signed with Michigan in no small part because fellow Californian Giles Jackson, who Oregon turned away, recruited him there.

Giles Jackson just entered his name into the transfer portal....

It really sucks how we lost out on his commitment. But at least he's getting a great education, which probably was a large deciding factor in his commitment to Michigan.

And just like that, Xavier Worthy has asked out of his national letter of intent and is back on the market. I don't suspect Oregon will be a major player here (which is a bummer - Worthy is a stellar athlete), but just following up on a Fresno kid that Oregon went after hard at one point.

My lone hope, really, is that he doesn't follow Giles to washington. Be better than that.

If it wasn’t Michigan it would have been Sark and Bama for Worthy. With Sark moving on to Texas it seems like an obvious choice: the OC who led offenses that made stars out of WRs is now the head coach at an academically prestigious school.

We can’t really complain about the WR haul for 2021, but Worthy is a burner.

To turn this in a completely different direction because I can't help myself- Since when do we call Texas an "academically prestigious school?" U.S. News & World ranks it #42. The quality of the education and the quality of the research dispensed by the school's professors is a lot closer to Oregon State than it is to Stanford.

I just thought that was a funny/odd comment. I've never reviewed resumes and seen UT and thought to myself "I gotta have this kid. He's probably brilliant." lol

I love that he was so adamant that once he made his decision he was DONE..... well, ok dude. He’s shifty and fast, but seemingly an absolute head case. Glad we took Brevard instead.

Yeah, de-commits from Oregon, then wiggles out of his LOI with Michigan. Oh, and does this count as his one free transfer? If not, his next school should probably not unpack all of his boxes.
