Former Duck commit Perkins transferring already

Former Oregon CB commit JaDarrius Perkins has put his name into the transfer portal from Missouri already after only being enrolled there since January. Not sure if Oregon will get in contact with him again but something to keep an eye on.

If that were the case, then I would say there is a silent. There are two spots left and if everyone is saying one spot, then there is a silent.

You can take 25 players in a class. The Ducks are at 23 and under the scholarship limit. Any attrition of current players can only add to future years class (because of the NCAA rule of only 25 per class).

Would highly doubt that JTT comes here. With regard to Jadarrius, he seems like a major head case. Would not want our team to circle back on him to get him on the team. Not sure he is talented enough to be worth the drama.

We have/had 2 spots, we are saving one for the chance at JTT. The other one is a total mystery.

I think it's possible that the coaches sent Perkins the financial paperwork but then he backed out, which cost us a spot. Outside of that, no one on Scoopduck can pinpoint what happened to the spot and Jhop is very oddly vague and glib about it.

This is a weird scenario, if true. Would that spot be able to be used on him again? Not sure I want him, as his saga has gotten to be too much, but I guess if the options are between wasting the spot or adding CB depth, could be worth a shot? Suppose it could open up an additional spot for the upcoming class, since it’ll be a small class. Might be a blessing, so they can better balance the classes.

NCAA has been pretty lax lately, any excuse will get you eligibility. Some are legit, some are less so.

I think all players should have a free no-sit transfer but we saw something similar with Chris Steele. Roommate at Florida accused of a sex crime, very good reason to leave, and he signed with Oregon then flipped to USC. Cost Oregon a scholarship slot, forcing Devon Williams to count towards the next class.
