Mitchell has been on multiple trips up to Eugene unofficially. The latest one was for the Nike camp I believe where he got the offer, because he impressed.

King makes the most sense since he's been here a lot and his mom has checked us out too. He also just stated that we were his leader in a USC post trip interview.

Owa would be very surprising given he's been pretty adament about taking all his trips.

Can't see any players such as Werner, Heimuli, Lattimore etc. who haven't tripped, pulling the trigger. Besides, CK doesn't allow commits unless they have visited.

As for DBs like Mathis, Hill, Stephenson - though they are all coveted prospects, it would surprise me if AJ would be this excited regarding any of them. He used the phrase "happy, happy, happy". Mathis could a possibility sense he just arrived in town, but still feel King makes the most sense.

According to DSA Terrance Mitchell is visiting this weekend and he committed last May. Apparently that rule isn't set in stone.

I believe Mitchell committed after taking an "unofficial" trip some time last Spring or summer. Same kind of deal with Ethan Grant.

As for if the rule is "set in stone", you're probably right as very few things in life are.

Basically we cannot track unofficial visits (who knows if a kid comes by with his family in June) so we cannot eliminate any prospects because they haven't visited, correct?

Well the reason he's not releasing the name is because the family didn't want him to yet. That might be because the player in question is announcing at the AA game. Just speculating...I do have a feeling it's King. Just a hunch though.

Not necessarily. We are running out of scholarships and he might not want to risk being left out if enough other recruits commit between now and then.

Great if true! And not surprised at all. King is as close as a duck as any other recruit out there.

And if we get Hill, sweet. If not, I'll take Mathis or Stephenson instead.

While I would love to believe that the silent commit this referred to was King and Hill, I have to wonder if it was really Derrick Malone? Does anyone know the truth to who this rumor was really about yet?

I think Malone committed this weekend and was not a silent.
