Why did Suh leave the state?
Anybody know why Ndamukong Suh left Grant to play at Nebraska and not oregon state, oregon or another west coast school? Hell, he's a heisman finalist now (when's the last time you heard that happen?), why didn't we push hard to keep him in state?

Re: Why did Suh leave the state?
Not sure if Suh wasn't interested in Oregon, or the other way around, but the ducks weren't even on Suh's final list of 5 teams. Beavers went after him hard, but let's be honest, who wants to go there?Zyme wrote:Anybody know why Ndamukong Suh left Grant to play at Nebraska and not oregon state, oregon or another west coast school? And for the record, Suh was one of the top DT's in the country coming out of high school. So it's not like the ducks didn't notice this one. I think we just flat out got beat out for his services.

engineering degree. we never had a shot. his dads an engineer and i think he has his own business so like father, like son i guess. i think his top 3 were nebraska, osu and either stanford or cal.Zyme wrote:Anybody know why Ndamukong Suh left Grant to play at Nebraska and not oregon state, oregon or another west coast school? That is one of the academic downsides to Oregon, but let's be honest, how many recruits will we lose because of that? The only other big recruit that we lose because of we don't have engineering is Matthew Masifilo.

can you imagine Suh on this year's beaver's team? That might have been a NC contender.

Re: Why did Suh leave the state?
Suh left the State because he wanted a respectable engineering program. Oregon = no engineering = no Suh. Hence the lack of interest and not in his top 5, etc.

A Suh/Paea for the Barkrats would have been beastly!Zyme wrote:can you imagine Suh on this year's beaver's team? That might have been a NC contender.

It is true that he wanted an engineering degree, but Damo is one of those kids that wants to leave the state for college and even if we had an engineering program our chances of getting him would have been slim to none.

Or...He didnt want to come to Oregon, as he doesnt want to be part of a NC team, perhaps?
Oh well, we all make choices in life..Some of em better than others...And we learn to live with em....
Good luck to Suh, Bryce Brown, Taj Boyd, Chris Harper, Terrell Pryor, and all of USC's 4 and 5 star bench sitters........We wish ya the best of luck....
