Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
http://rivals.yahoo.com/oregon/football ... rant-88302
maybe he thought 3 more years of LMJ and Dontae Williams also committing wouldn't provide him enough playing time?

TCU also landed Josh Huff (Minn soft verbal) who visited us and we were looking at as WR. i believe Grant and Huff were good friends

He'd been looking around for a while; remember his trip to Minnesota? This should add fire to the whole "I'm committed but I'm looking" debate.

What the hell? I think this is huge news. He never should have commited to Oregon in the first place then.

Hope he has fun playing in a "who cares" conference. Time to get Lattimore or Seastrunk now.

crap! this sucks hardcore. Even though we have James and barner for the next 2-3 years. It would have been very nice to have Grant. Like I said anything can happen and it is usually bad news for us

So much for all we heard about him being the most excited recruit in the history of ever. Sucks. Hope he does well at TCU though.

I just don't get his thinking. Oregon wins arguably the best conference in the country, is going to the rose bowl, has showcased their running game again, etc. Nobody cares about TCU.

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
his thinking is probably based on playing time. LMJ, Barner, Dontae all for at least 3 more years. TCU may have been able to promise him early playing time, and if Huff is one of his good friends like i read somewhere, that probably impacted his decision as wellduckgrad99 wrote:I just don't get his thinking. Just to play devil's advocate... TCU is ranked higher, is closer to home, has better weather, and offers more playing time.duckgrad99 wrote:I just don't get his thinking. Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
also, he committed when it appeared that Blount leaving would leave a RB spot wide open. well now James owns that spot and Barner doesn't look too bad backing him up as well. so the idea was to use Grant as the TZR more often than not, and we really haven't utilized that much at all this year - barner has lined up there some recently and been involved in some options play (i.e. the 4th down conversion) but from Grant's perspective, do you think he views Oregon as a good situation for playing time (not just early - in the next 3 years)?

We also have a super early commit from that RB from Lake Oswego from next year's class.

Man that sucks, I was looking forward to seeing Grant.
Whatever, Dontae Williams will have to do.

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
No matter the reasons, it still sucks. I believe he was our first commit in this class, and I loved his speed. I guess you can never trust what these kids say, because when he commited he was all Oregon.
