This sucks cuz I was pretty excited for him to be used in our O but whatever. Just another case of his loss not ours. LaJames will be here for another 3 years & I don't think we'll have any problems picking up top level RBs from here on out.

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
Brandon over on Rivals had a thread this morning that started out saying the Ducks have really good news coming and later it said the Ducks also had some bad news but the good news far outweighs the bad. I wonder if the bad was reffering to Grant going to TCU and if so does that mean we have a better back coming in instead? I would say Lattimore but he hasn't visited yet, maybe Seastrunk?chump01284 wrote:i hope this latts or Lachte is aware of Grant Decommits from Oregon.

oooookay. but then he might have changed his mind. stop thinking everything is so cut and dry. geezus. why get so upset over this stuff? stop making up scenarios in your head to feed your way of thinking.Going to a school closer to home was never an issue.
maybe he just didn't want to live 3k miles away from home. it happens all the time. why is it so hard to think that was a major influence instead of "competition"?

Interesting. If the good far outweighs the bad, must mean we are about to land a huge recruit because Grant was pretty big.

For the first time ever, I agree with hines. Stop trying to insult a kid every time he decides he doesn't want to be a Duck.

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
The reason he changed his mind is irrelevant. Hopefully Ethan found a place he likes enough in TCU.
The issue I have, and I think a lot of other people have, is the general trend of recruits committing to schools and bailing. Call me old fashioned, but to commit to a school should mean a "commitment" to a school. Period.
If you're not sure don't commit; everyone is better off that way.

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
Sure it stings when a recruit decommits from the ducks but it sure is nice when they decommit from somewhere else and choose us. I wish that it didn't work out this way but at least it was a position that isn't a HUGE need at the moment. I think Grant would have been better suited to next years recruiting class. Oh well, let's hope that we can get a few decommits to look our way. I sure hope someone lets us in on what the "huge" good news is from talefeathers.

Is it possible he got some news from the coaches that he didn't like? like maybe they are going after a big time jc back or something? Just curious speculation.

Here here, I was shocked and disappointed when I read this but its a huge life decision and Oregon might not be the best place for everyone. I think he would look great in our offense, but this might not even be a football decision. Whatever his reasons, I hope he does well.Tray Dub wrote:For the first time ever, I agree with hines. Who knows maybe something good will come out of this.. Remember when we didn't get pryor, and we settled for that Masoli guy? That seemed to work out ok!canaduck wrote:Here here, I was shocked and disappointed when I read this but its a huge life decision and Oregon might not be the best place for everyone. Bingo. Why commit to a school so early if you aren't sure? At least guys like Pryor and Bryce Brown didn't commit to the ducks and then go elsewhere.

Unless, of course, they decommit from another school and commit to us!Elduderino wrote:The reason he changed his mind is irrelevant. Hopefully Ethan found a place he likes enough in TCU.

It's relevant if he de-committed because he new of a better back than him that was going to commit and he couldn't compete for pt!!

Dear C4Qers,
Why do you guys always post more when a player commits to a different school or decommits from Oregon, YET you all post less when we actually land a commit.
I might be the same way, but it just seems silly to me..

Re: Ethan Grant decommits and commits to TCU
I think in this case it's just a timing thing. There isn't a lot going on right now, this kinda came out of left field and bitch slapped us in the face. We have a month till we get to see our pac 10 champs play again and no practice to talk about right now. So I would guess this is just a timing thing. At least in my case..UOducksTK1 wrote:Dear C4Qers,
